Archery 101 [Friday, Second Period]

Okay, so food and bows didn't exactly go together, but Clint had cupcakes from the bakery anyway as a "last day of class" present for everyone. "Hey guys. I just wanted to say thanks for working so hard and being such great students," he said once everyone had arrived and seemed to be getting settled in. "I don't really have a final for you guys 'cause that'd be hard to grade." Also, that would mean giving bad marks to people who hadn't gotten better and that just didn't seem fair to Clint. The fact that it made his job easier too was purely a bonus. "So, I just want to see you shoot one last time. Give it your best shot--I know you've all been improving, so let me see where your practice has gotten you. If you intend to keep up with this, then I look forward to seeing you again."

Especially if there were flying jalapenos again. He almost missed that sort of thing.

The classroom looked completely ordinary today, so clearly this would be an easy final.

"Kids, the key to problem solving is to be prepared, for any situation. People might mock you for having a zombie plan, but it just might be the only thing saving your spicy brains-"

Which would be when the pirate-ninja-cyborg-velociraptors attacked, several of them dragging off Oz and leaving only fuzz and feathers in their wake. The remaining ones looked more than a touch cranky.

Parlour Games, Friday, 6/28

The class met in the danger shop today, which had been programmed to look like a British parlor circa 1900. A table to one side was set up for card games; a piano in the opposite corner was available for anyone who felt like playing music or singing. A table of snacks set off the options nicely.

"Welcome to class," Jack said. "This was a class about non-electronic ways to entertain ourselves, so have ... what maybe the dullest last week of class party many of you will go to. I enjoyed teaching you; I hope you enjoyed being here. Thank you and have fun."

And with that he took a cupcake off the snack table.
