Cultural Appreciation, Period Four

Class was meeting in the Danger Shop today, which was set up to look like a movie theatre. Complete with popcorn, candy, and pop available for the students to grab as they filed in.

"Today we will be watching La Céleste Praline, a movie about how a small chocolate shop helped to transform a community," Thor said, and then pressed the button to begin the movie.

The weather had improved, at least in terms of temperature, and the clouds overhead didn't look like they were going to burst. So Ender had directed his class to the lawn again, where he sat in the grass with the bag of sandwiches by his side.

"So," he said, "How do you feel about the future now?"

That was all.

Summer Fitness, Monday 2nd Period, 6/17

"I hope this every week, but this week I especially hope everyone wore clothes they won't mind getting dirty," Steve announced, "because we're going to be doing a mud course. It'll be fun!" He really sounded like he thought it would be.

He talked them through the obstacles--a section where they would have to crawl under a net, another where they would run through a course of tires, and a small climbing wall before a sprint to the finish line--and told them, "Now get out there and have fun!"

Hitting Things 101- Tuesday- 4th period

Today was a Danger Shop day, where the students would find themselves in front of a boxing ring when they showed up. Sometimes you just really didn't need explanation for what you were gonna be doing.

But Jaina was going to give it anyway. "You've going to be boxing today, kids. That means you put on the goofy-looking gear that yes, you have to wear, you get in the ring with one other person, and you hit each other for a round. Easy enough, right?" She went into a concise explanation of the rules, and said, "You only have one round. That's three minutes, no hitting below the belt. If there aren't any questions, who wants to go first?"

First Aid and Basic Medicine | Tuesday | Period Two

Another Tuesday, another session of first aid class. Today, class was meeting outside under a tent, which some might call generous on the teacher's part. Bruce just thought it was good to provide maximum possible distractions to make sure the students could focus on the task at hand.
