Instead of the typical classroom, today they were meeting in the Danger Shop, which was set up to resemble a Washitsu, containing several low tables upon which were all different sorts of sushi.

"Today," Thor said, as he greeted the class. "We are going to discuss sushi. Sushi originated in Japan, but has since become popular all across Midgard. It is made with rice, seaweed, and many different types of fillings, typically raw seafood but also vegetables and some other meats as well. As the consumption of sushi spread to other nations, many regional variations have been created."

"So, go ahead and try some for yourself," he said, gesturing to the tables.

Along the back of the room there was a counter set up with moddable sushi ingredients, bamboo mats, and instructions for rolling your own sushi. "If you would like to try creating your own, there is space for you to do so," Thor added, pointing to the setup.

Because the weather hadn't gotten much better, class was indoors again today, in a simple classroom. The desks had been shoved aside and there were pillows on the floor as well as the ubiquitous bag of sandwiches.

"Sorry I didn't make it last week," Ender said, sitting down once everyone else in the class had arrived. "Fandom struck and turned me into something. I'm sure you're all familiar with that by now."

He shot them a wry look.

"I hope I won't be retreading anything Yeul spoke to you about last week," he said. Glancing at the girl if she was there, he added, "I'm thankful you were able to fill in."

Then he cleared his throat and said, "This island has a habit of plucking us from our beds and turning us into something else at the drop of a hat," he said. "Frankly, it's a pain in the ass at best, a matter of extreme concern and panic at worst. Still, it does bring us to one of the most classic of all philosophical questions: what makes you yourself?" His expression got even wryer.

"If someone changes some element of your history, does that make you a different person? When you inhabit the body of a cat or a wolf, your brains rewired for the occasion, are you still yourself? Or are we who we are only in the moment that we are, and then our personalities are redistributed by the flash of a neuron? If we're shaped like something alien, does that suddenly turn us into something alien to ourselves?"

He sat back. "Just something to think about," he said.

"Hey guys," Tony said, clearing his throat in order to get the class' attention. "Mr. Rogers is stuck on the mainland today, so we'll have an easy class."

Easy. Yes.

"We're going to try some resistance training by jogging on the beach."

Yes, your legs already hated you for this.

The class was back in the gym, and it was totally another one of those weeks when everyone stared at Jaina. Sorry. Sort of.

"So, you just spent a week in bouncy castles with a bunch of other people, and now you get to spend another week there," she began, and pulled a foam bat out from behind her back. "That means today you get to let out your frustrations with one of these. It's foam, so you can't really hurt anybody or anything. But you can hit things to your heart's content, so grab one and have at it. Just leave the foam on the bat."

She'd dealt with teenagers long enough to make sure that was clearly stated.
