"Afternoon, kids." They were having class in a regular classroom this week, so there probably wouldn't be a repeat of the lava incident. Probably. "Now when it comes to problem-solving there is one thing you must take into consideration above all others, the people factor."

"You see people," Oz paused for effect. "Are by and large stupid. Maybe not individually, but in a group? Oh-boy. It doesn't matter if you're the man with the plan, if you know how to fix the problem with one simple action, you will be ignored in favour of the most idiotic notions until it's almost too late. And the almost is if you're lucky. So you need to know how people think, and take into consideration all the ways panicking people can make a bad situation worse"

"Now I could just throw you in the deep end and expect you all to sink or swim with who knows what riding on the line, no teacher like experience after all." But they were probably expecting that, so he had to lull them into a false sense of security. "But watching everything turn to chaos can be just as educational, so take a load off and see what happens when powerful ambition meets poor impulse control."

When the students arrived in the Danger Shop today, they'd find a row of targets set up, some further away than others, along with the bows from last week, and arrows! Gosh, Clint loved arrows.

"Hey guys. This is probably the most talking I'll do all summer, but it's also really important," he said. "If you already know how to shoot, congratulations, you've advanced today, and you can go ahead and grab a bow or take your own and go to the far targets. For the rest of you, let's go over some of the basics of shooting."

Clint got everyone lined up in front of the rest of the targets, and went over all the important basics - general safety so they didn't accidentally hurt themselves (he liked the Danger Shop but he still wasn't 100% confident about the technology), the proper stance to take when shooting, and most importantly, how to actually fire an arrow without dropping it.

"I want you to work on your stance and form first," he said when he was done. "Get an armguard and pick a bow you like and practice drawing it until you feel comfortable. Then, if you're feeling up to it, try shooting and see how it goes. I'll be here if you need any help."

Class was in the Danger Shop today, but only because Batman knew he couldn't get a bear into a classroom. No, really. He had circus connections where he could have gotten a domesticated, trained bear, but nope. The doors were just too small. So instead, the shop looked like the woods.

"Today, you're going to fight a bear," Batman announced immediately after the bell. "If you find yourself having so-called 'adventures' regularly, you'll find that there are certain criminal masterminds who enjoy animal themes. I've had to fight sharks, several varieties of big cats, wolves, apes, and, yes, bears. For this lesson, they roughly stand in for any large animal attack, although specifics will differ based on the animal. In addition to that, this is Fandom. I understand there has been at least one massive bear attack in the island's history. You should be prepared for more."

Batman wasn't saying that there would definitely be one. He just advised being prepared for literally EVERYTHING.

The classroom was once again set up to resemble a comfortable living space, with soft chairs in a circle and a table at the side with little snacks. But unlike last week, Jack was a tiny bit ... off because of the phase of the moon -- the beast was very close under his skin today. He'd been drinking decaffeinated tea all morning in an effort to soothe himself enough to teach, and it seemed to be working as long as he wasn't provoked.

He very much hoped none of his students provoked him.

"Welcome back," he said. "The game we're playing today is one I'm sure many of you have played before, called twenty questions. Each of you should think of a person, place or thing, and then pair off. The guesser may ask up to twenty questions to figure out what is being thought of; the fewer questions you need to ask, the smugger you can be about guessing right. The questions should almost always be answered with 'yes' or 'no,' though it is permissible to say something like 'it depends' or 'partially' if the question is otherwise unanswerable. Once the first person's object is guessed, switch roles. Settle in, have a snack if you want, and get to playing. I'm here to referee should you need it."

And then he took a long gulp of tea.
