Bond had sent an email to his students to meet him down at Serenity Cove, and to dress appropriately. He didn't specify for what, since he did want to see if they had that much their wits about them.

"Good afternoon," he said once they'd arrived. "And welcome to class. I'd say we've got a small enough class that even if we don't already know each other's names we can figure it out easily enough, so we can dispense with the traditional introduction spiel, but I would like you to tell me how good a swimmer you are, your awareness of water safety, that kind of thing, since we're going to be working out here instead of the Danger Shop and it would be unfortunate if I ended the term with less students than I started with."

"But with that out of the way, we're going to be easing into things by getting used to the differences in terrain here to other places you might have exercises, and the best way to that is with laps." Try not to look so pleased about that, Bond. "So we'll be going from one end of the cove to the other and back, moving along the shore or the shallows as we go, until we've covered a reasonable cross-section of the beach."

He paused a moment. "Do try to avoid the jalapenos."

Pinkie was practically vibrating at the front of the class -- set up in a large classroom filled with scratched, chipped, stained, and otherwise art-damaged tables for the students to sit at. Each was covered in piles of yard, embroidery floss, popsicle sticks, and regular sticks -- and large vats of glitter.

"HIHIHIHIHIHIHI!" she said, unable to contain herself when the last of the students seemed to have arrived and class was set to start. "OMIGOSH WELCOME TO CLASS!"

Derek had the ear closest to her covered, fully expecting this outburst of joy. He was getting way too used to her for comfort. "Arts and Crafts," he said in case they had forgotten. He was, of course, forgetting the most important part of the class in that title.

Pinkie cleared her throat with a roll of her eyes. "He means," she said, with great exasperation, "the Art of Friendship." She grinned broadly and whipped out her party cannon as though she'd just reached off the edge of a tv screen. "AND GLITTER!"

Yep, that was a glitter bomb fired into the air by a bright pink cannon, with a sound like a dog's chew toy being stepped on.

You're welcome.

Derek took a moment to attempt to brush some of the glitter out of his hair. It was adorable that he thought it was possible to do, wasn't it? "And glitter," he muttered through gritted teeth. "We're starting with projects."

That will hopefully distract you from the insanity.

"We're gonna make something called a god's eye," Pinkie said. "Though I don't know why it's called that since it doesn't look anything like an eye to me. It's made with yarn, which glitter sticks to just great!"

Hope you all liked the STD of the crafting world, folks. "And--" How was this his life? "--friendship bracelet. Which you could also throw glitter on if you wanted."

The tone implied you didn't want to.

Oh Derek. You knew you loved it. "So get craftin'!" Pinkie said, hooking one front hoof through the air in a "go get 'em!" kind of gesture. "Oh, and you can tell us your names and stuff if you want, too."

"We have a spot open for another TA." Since they had a graduate filling one spot. "Stiles. Enjoy cleaning up the glitter."

He was a petty, petty man.

Evan was actually in a pretty good mood as he settled into his shift at the library today. The jalapeno swarm had apparently been taken care of, or else it had moved along, and it looked like the books were more or less behaving themselves today.

... More or less, because any and every book in the library that had bugs in it had apparently learned of the swarm, and was now occupying themselves by making little bzzt sounds by flipping the corners of their pages really fast. A couple here and there wasn't so bad, and they only did it occasionally, but now and then the whole lot of them decided to bzzt at once, and it sounded as though insectageddon was nigh.

Evan mostly just wrinkled his nose at them before putting his attention back into the book he'd been reading.

Zero stars.

"Hey there," Josh said, leaning against the counter at the front of a McDonald's restaurant, "and welcome to the Danger Shop. This is your summer workshop on customer service." He gestured to a table where they would find hats, hairnets, and shirts with their names on them. "Please turn off your cell phones, put on your extremely attractive new outfits and get behind the counters."

Once the students had done so, Josh gave them a brief tutorial on how to make the cash registers work, then smiled a little fiendishly. "Good," he said, heading over to the controls of the Danger Shop. "Let's add some customers. You're on the lunch rush starting....now."

And dozens of customers in all shapes and sizes flooded into the restaurant.
