"So," Jaye said when class was ready to begin, "it's Valentine's Day, which for those of you from the way way past, or another planet, or who have been living in a cave all their lives, is a Hallmark holiday where you're expected to shell out a bunch of money for your significant other to show you love them and/or if you expect to get any for a while, and the half of the singles crowd who's totally normal gets drowned out by the wave of people throwing fits about being single on one day of the year. So we're gonna watch a movie about it. Have fun with that.

"Oh," she added, "extra credit to anyone who can list off all the boyfriends Taylor Swift has had since this movie came out."

The students were in a regular classroom today, and at the front of the class, Jaina didn't look too happy about it.

"You were supposed to be in the Danger Shop today, but sometimes it likes to be tempermental right before class starts, which doesn't give a lot of time to fix it." Which was the annoying part. Give her five more minutes and she'd have had it done. "So today, we're getting a movie about flying instead. Just... try not to look like you're asleep, okay?"

William was more or less accustomed to things raining from the ceiling after working at Stark's for years now. It was still infrequent enough to be surprising when the library did it, however.

Today's precipitation of choice was bubbles. William was just going to be glad no one was likely to give him grief over wearing his hat indoors.

"For those of us whom have always had reproductive control over our bodies, the alternative is often unimaginable," Ghanima began, once everyone had arrived for the day. "However, even as recently as within the last hundred years, this has not been the case in the United States."

Ghanima had a unique view on time, it was true, but in the Imperium it wasn't uncommon for members of the Great Houses - and others with access to the spice melange - to live a hundred and fifty years or more.

No woman can call herself free who does not own and control her body. No woman can call herself free until she can choose consciously whether she will or will not be a mother. )

"This 1936 contraception court victory was the culmination of Sanger's birth control efforts, and she took the opportunity, now in her late 50s, to move to Tucson, Arizona, intending to play a less critical role in the birth control movement. In spite of her original intentions, she remained active in the movement through the 1950s."

[OOC: OCD up, today's topic is Margaret Sanger.]
