Today Oz had a projector set up in the classroom. His completely ordinary and normal classroom.

"Good afternoon, class," he said once everyone was seated at their desks. "I hope you've all been keeping out of trouble since last week."

"Listening to the radio, it seems that some people in the resistance are causing more trouble for the rest of us, so today we're going to be watching a some films to explore why rules are so important and how keeping your head down and following along with the established social order keeps us all out of trouble."

Bright and early, Umbridge's voice chirped through the intercoms for one and all to hear.

"Good morning, students," she started, sounding quite pleased with things. "We're about to begin another wonderful day here on our wonderful island learning wonderful things!"

Things were wonderful, did you get that? All right, then.

"Now, I've heard we had a little accident in detention yesterday." Here, Umbridge forced herself to sound sad. "How unfortunate that is. I will make sure that child's mother and father are sent a very nice fruit basket with my condolences. Never let it be said that High Inquisitor Umbridge doesn't care about her students!"

She laughed lightly. "Now then, let's try to avoid anymore unfortunate accidents, shall we? But, if they do happen..." She actually didn't sound like she minded that so much. "...then just make sure you clean up after yourselves. Bodies strewn all about does take away from the ambiance. Have a delightful day!"

And the announcements were over.

So, one of the important things to realize about detention was that the monotony of everyone's daily lives was part of the punishment. That meant that even though someone had died yesterday, the day's schedule didn't change a bit.

After all, most of your little lives just weren't that important in the grand scheme of things.

The Madri were strangely twitchy today. Or at least twitchier than usual as they stood guard around the room, waiting for the next student to come in.

The ocelot cage was empty.

Probably best not to ask what happened to them.

Kaidan wasn't feeling completely like himself today.

Or maybe it was that the island didn't feel like itself. There was something in the air, a tense note that reminded him strangely and painfully of Shepard and the last days of the struggle with Saren.

He wasn't able to concentrate.

And that bothered him-- he didn't like feeling out of control, and he didn't like not having his focus which kept that control.

"You'll be watching a movie today," he started. "I'm... sorry about this, but the lesson plan's out the window for now. Thanks."

He switched on the film and sat down.

It was Friday again, and that meant everyone's favorite enforcers were at the head of the classroom and ready to drop some knowledge bombs.

Or, you know, traumatize people. Po-Tay-Toh, Poh-Tah-Toh.

"Well, it looks like you kids survived the week. So, congrats there. Gold stars all around," Deadpool said brightly.

Bo looked less than impressed, with both the class and her colleague. "Of course, some people - like Headmistress Umbridge, for instance - have slightly higher standards for good decision-making than 'Did you die yet.'"

"Such as: How to deal with traitors!" Yeah, this was going to be a cheerful class.

Bo nodded, though she didn't stop giving Deadpool the hairy eyeball. "As satisfying as it might be to just stab the hell out of them right away--" Why yes, that was a knife with a six-inch long blade she just pulled out of her boot and was now making helpful illustrative gestures with. "Sometimes the wiser decision is to wait."

Comb that eyeball, Bo! Deadpool responded to that by pulling out a sword and oh so casually placing it on the desk. He'd played this game before, damn it. "Because maybe they can lead us to the wacky resistance members for more stabbing!"

"True." Bo wasn't putting her knife down, thanks. "Or maybe they need to be corrected for their naughty behavior, and keeping them alive will make it hurt longer."

"So!" Deadpool said, clapping his hands together like an excited kindergarten teacher. "Who wants to share with the class how best to deal with this hive of scum and villainy?"

"Bonus points," Bo added with a bit of a dreamy expression crossing her face, "for incorporating 'What Would Headmistress Umbridge Do' into your answer." The expression quickly turned stony as she added, "Unless your answer is stupid, in which case Deadpool gets to shiv you. AFTER I'm done punishing you for insulting my-- your High Inquisitor."
