Dean was starting to get that look about him. The look of a man who had hidden himself away from the world on the weekend on account of surprise breasts, only to lose himself in artistic projects right up until yesterday, when a bunch of the most horrifying toys he'd ever seen had wound up staring him down until, well, it was either him or them.

Dean McCoppin was a force to be reckoned with when he had a crowbar at his disposal, thanks.

"So, this week we're going to do something a little different," he said as students filed into the art room. "I seem to have gotten my hands on... a large number of spare doll parts, no idea how that happened, really, and I'm looking for some way to make use of them. Your mission is to do something with the odds and ends to make them a bit more presentable. Paint 'em up, re-clothe them, re-hair them, give them little hats or whatever, I don't care. Any dolls that don't look like they're going to try to eat us alive by the time we're done the class are going to be donated to go to kids who wouldn't get a toy like this otherwise. So, uh, try to get some of the creepiness off, guys."

Look, it had seemed like a waste to just throw the parts in the trash. And Dean spent an inordinate amount of time at the junkyard in the first place, and he didn't want to trip across any of these creepy doll pieces. There was a bunch of paint, and doll hair, and new eyes and bits of fabric and all sorts of other moddable supplies to work with, so students could go nuts.

"If you don't want to do that, then you can always work on your sculpture pieces. Classes for the rest of the semester are going to alternate between lectures and recycling projects like this, and you guys will get the option to work on your final projects during any class you'd prefer to."

A pause.

"And, of course, there's coffee."

Did you expect any different?

Considering the day they'd all had yesterday, it hadn't taken Zoe very long to decide that the usual pizza for the Student Council members should be accompanied by small bags of chocolate. Sweets cured any ills from creepy things, right?

"Good afternoon," she said, once everyone had arrived. "We've got a busy week ahead of us - the Valentine's Day dance is scheduled for next Saturday, so we need to decide how this 'royalty' theme is going to go. We need to decide if we want to sell flowers again for the holiday; it's seemed to go well the last few years, so personally, I think it'd be a good idea. And, we have a guest today," she added, pointing to Tony, "who would like to talk to us about a joint project between us and the fraternity." Hopefully, the sugar would keep them going through so many topics.

The PA clicked on. And since this was most definitely not Zoe's voice, there were people who should probably fear.

"Good morning, boys and girls. This is just an announcement that there will be detention tomorrow. Sam Puckett, you earned your detention, good job, but in the name of tradition, the following students have been randomly selected to serve: If you're Juliet Darling, Rilla Blythe, Topher Brink, or Kenzi-" Brief static there. "-well then it sucks to be you. Be in the Danger Shop tomorrow, and have a nice day!"

For the first time in weeks, class was back in a regular classroom. A regular classroom with a TV on. "When you think of leaders, it's usually the more glorious aspects of the position that you focus on. It's only natural. What people don't always consider is the amount of work that goes into it behind the scenes."

"Sports probably do the best job of spotlighting the work that goes into it. Whenever you hear about a quarterback's leadership qualities, it's inevitable that somebody will credit the time he spends in the film room watching video of his team and his opponent."

"And all of that is an introduction to a movie day," Scott said. "But to keep it from feeling like you're getting away with something easy, the movie is series of TED talks that should give you some extra information on theories behind leading and what you can really do."

"First we'll be watching an author, Simon Sinek, explaining how leaders can inspire action. Then Derek Sivers discussing how to start a movement, via a lone shirtless man dancing in public. And then finally, entrepreneur Seth Godwin on how the internet has created tribes which anyone can lead."

"If you have any questions, feel free to ask after each video."

Arya had set up a portable DVD player in the front of the room. She was checking it to make sure the DVD was paused at the right spot, as the students settled in.

Movie day! )

Today the Danger Shop looked suspiciously like Jaye's Theater program, but Oz would deny everything if asked.

"Morning kids," Oz greeted them once they'd finished arriving. "Now I had this whole class planned around fashion emergencies and what to do when you suddenly needed a c-cup and all that, but since it sounds like you had a stressful day yesterday, I thought we'd all just kick back with a relaxing film today."

You could thank him after class.
