Again, the class met in a normal classroom. There were sketchpads and colored pencils at each desk, as they'd be necessary for the day's activity.

"Right, right," he said, very excited for the day, it seemed. "Now that we've established that you all need little people to do your bidding, now it's time to come up with their uniform. Helmets that obscure their ugly faces? Hats with gigantic plumes? Spandex and domino masks? It's all really down to making sure that no matter what, they never are quite as fashionable as you. After all, you are the main event, they are the ones who, at any time, could be filling a coffin a they've thwarted an assassination attempt by valiantly taking the bullet. Possibly forcibly. But I digress."

"As a pirate captain, I did not dictate a uniform so much as the profession had its own very particular motif. I, of course, was the grandest of all, with the brightest coat and the largest hat. None had as fine of clothes as I, and if they dared to try, I'd gut them for their cheek."

There was a brief break as he chuckled.

"But now, I want to see what you all think is the best idea for your future underlings. So, chop chop, get to drawing, I'll come around and critique you all individually. And do feel free to talk it over with your neighbors. Don't want to have henchmen that might accidentally look just like your neighboring megalomaniac's, do you!"

Another laugh.

"Well now, get to it!"

"Ahhh, welcome back, my little goslings ♥," said Shunsui as his little class got themselves settled in for another session of coffee and creation. He passed along the drink carriers of lattes and hot chocolate as he did last time, because drinking coffee was simply what was expected out of young authors. "I hope your week has been finding you excited and inspired ♥ I know I have been ♥! Today's lesson is going to be about developing character, which should be easy for any of you, surrounded as you are by such interesting characters every day ♥.

"Like plot, characters are essential to almost all stories ♥. You can't really have one without the other; sometimes the characters are created out of a necessity for the plot, and other times, a plot begins to develop around the creation of characters ♥. Essentially, characters are our people, our actors, our little critters and important objects, the actors and the players on the stage of our book ♥. There is usually a hero and a villain. Or perhaps an anti-hero. There may be a beautiful love interest that the hero and villain are combating over, or perhaps a wise old sage who dispenses helpful....or unhelpful!...advice ♥. There are roguish captains wooing sexy pirates; bookish or dreamy young girls dreaming of princes. Every day young men trying to discover who they are and what their purposes in life may be. When it comes to characters in fiction, just as with characters in life, there are no limits as to what there could be ♥.

"One of the easiest ways for a writer to write their stories is to really get their character ♥. Know them as well as you know yourself, probably better; get inside them, their heads, their bodies, their emotions and feelings ♥. Know why they do what they do, their motivations, their reasons, their thoughts and opinions ♥. The writer, when writing, will become their characters, just as an actor on stage becomes their character for the duration of the play ♥. Do you want the character of the story to be someone like you, someone you can relate to and use as a voice ♥? Or do you want them to be quite different, to live vicariously through a person who will get the chance for so many things different than what life hands you now ♥? Either way, through your character, you can be whoever you want and have them do whatever your heart desires ♥. The heroes in my own work tend to be dashing and charming, so, clearly, my art tends to imitate life ♥.

"So this is what we will be doing today ♥! I want you all to spend some time really working out a character ♥. I have some worksheets that may help you really get down to the details of a character, but you, as the writer, of course may determine what is important about them and what is not ♥. Feel free to bounce ideas off of each other, and, when we've all worked a little bit on our characters, we'll then put them into action, and I'll tell you more about that when we're finished ♥.

"Any questions before we begin ♥?"

"Now first we're gonna clear up a few things," Deadpool informed the class when they arrived. "Today is Thursday, not Saturday. As yesterday was Wednesday, not Friday. And if anyone uses autotune in my presence, I will have to murder you. Got it? Good!"

Ah, the start of a new day with Deadpool.

"Today we're gonna discuss how you need to supervise a kid at all times because sharp things always seem way nicer to run with and or put in your mouth when you're a three year old," he informed the class cheerfully. "Little known fact: grenades and a Dora the Explorer DVD gone missing equal the same amount of destructive force in a house. The more you know and all that crap."

Unfortunately, Jan wasn't listening to a damn thing concerning the lecture. She was, however, singing. Loudly. "Fri~day, Fri~day!"

Because it was an awesome song when you still thought My Little Pony was an amazing cinematic achievement. Without being stoned.

Deadpool ignored the singing, steaming on through that lecture. "Break off into groups of two and figure out what you have just laying around that's bad for kids. YouTube counts."

No one who knew anything about Alexander should be surprised to see that the mess of maps and notes and scrolls that had littered the counter at Things Reborn yesterday had now been moved over to clutter the front desk at the library, and there it would stay until the end of the day.

He fully intended to take care of any other tasks first, though; doing what was expected of you was definitely a hard engrained skill of his, but he was always quite adept at doing them well and doing them quickly so that he'd have time for other things as well.

Another day, another futile attempt to find what he was looking for.

The library is open!

When the students made their way to the Danger Shop today, they would see a note on the door saying "Here Be Clowns." That was all the warning you were getting, coulrophobics.

When the students were all inside the shop (and inside the virtual circus tent), Dick started the lesson. "Let's talk about clowns. First off, if you ever see one who looks like this guy," Dick said, pushing a button on the shop remote to display a projection of a joyfully psychotic-looking man with a white face and green hair, "run. He's a lunatic and a murderer and he can do real damage. Any Gotham City kids in here hopefully know what I'm talking about."

The rest of the clowns are not looking to murder you. )
