doubleohblonde: (Bond would prefer a Bentley)

The class was again meeting in the Danger Shop, but there were some differences. Instead of a long flat stretch of road, it wove and wound its way through a series of hills and valleys and while last week's Aston Martin made a repeat appearance, today there were five cars instead of just one.

"Good morning, class," Bond began. "Now that you've had a chance to familiarise yourself with the DBS, you'll be trying something a little more challenging. In addition to the curves and rises, the surface quality of the the road you see before you of varies, which will affect the traction of your tires. You will also need to keep an eye out for your fellow students, who will be sharing the road with you. This is a test of dexterity and skill, not speed. Finishing the course in one piece is more important than finishing it quickly."

He gestured inside the nearest car. "The cars have been fitted with hands-free radio systems if you wish to communicate with myself or any your fellow students."

Bond waited until the students had gotten into the cars to add. "One more thing, there's going to be people shooting at you and trying to run you off the road. Have fun."

Class was meeting in the Danger Shop again today, although the appearance was entirely different from last week. Last week, it had been a cliffside, for rock-flinging experiments; this week, they were meeting in a round room with a domed ceiling, chairs which leaned way back, and dim lights.

When the students came into the room on Tuesday they might have noticed that it smelled strongly of old lady (or like a bunch of dried out flowers, rather), but Alaric was acting like he didn't notice anything. If you thought it smelled like old lady now, just wait until later.

"Okay, guys, today we're going to be covering vampires. I'm sure you all know what vampires are, but we're gonna go over the basics anyway for sake of easy test questions when the final comes," Alaric said with a smile. "I realize there are a few vampires in the room, but I promise to be as unbiased as possible. I know you're good people."

You know, when you're not killing innocent carnival workers or biting your golden retriever-like boyfriend, Caroline.

The second week of the semester, and it was already starting to feel like routine. Of course, it helped that she worked the same day that she had, last term.

Rinoa was puttering around the library in a fairly good mood, and would be happy to help anyone who needed assistance. (Or talk to anyone who wanted to chatter.)

At the end of last class, Cindy had handwavily told the class to meet her in the computer lab today. A few computers were already on when the students entered, and next to each was a basic cell phone, one that you could buy minutes for. No pastries and coffee today though. Not around the electronics.

"Today's class is all about modern methods of communication," she said as soon as the bell rang. Cut for lecturey lecture )

Cindy's computer was hooked up to a projector and she slowly demonstrated how to access the internet and go to her Fandom High email address. "Each of you have a school-based email account. Your email can be accessed from any device with internet capabilities--if you don't have one personally, you're welcome to use the school computer lab. If you haven't already accessed your email, I suggest you take a few minutes to do so. Then, I want you to practice emailing, calling, texting, and even instant messaging people. I've emailed all of you the numbers to the phones I brought in today. You can practice calling one another, or, if you know other people, feel free to call or text them instead. By the end of class today, I'd like you to be at least familiar with calling and emailing. You should also check your email and voicemails a few times a week, as that is how most people--including teachers--will try to get ahold of you."
