Not bein' sure if the library was supposed t'be open today or not, George figured he'd better go and open it.  Getting chewed out by the librarian he'd never met when his mam was on the island seemed like the worst idea ever.  So far he hadn't gotten in trouble with her for anything other not speakin' the way she taught, and he'd rather keep it that way.

George Cooper was very good at doin' what he wanted and bein' bullheaded about it.  Except when his mam got that look in her eye.  Then it was time to duck and figure out a way to do it without her findin' out.

So he was doin' the regular library chores then playin' with a handful of dice at the library desk.  There was a book within reach too just in case someone came wanderin' by who'd flip out at th' dice.
