There was an inherent problem in having a group of (for the most part) complete nerds for your library aides: even when there wasn't any school, they still showed up to open the library, because it wasn't like there was anything better for them to do. At least, that's how it was for Adah. Her choices seemed to sit and sulk in her room or sit and sulk behind a desk, and so she decided to go with the latter, because there were more books in the library that she hadn't read than there were in her room.
