There is the usual spread of goodies on the front desk but rather than being handmade, these look as if Wilson picked them up fro J GOB on his way in to class. The professor himself is sitting quietly in his chair, with a far away look in his eyes.

As soon as the class is settled down, Wilson stood and moved to the overhead projector.

"Good afternoon. Please take out a couple pieces of paper, we're having a pop quiz today. After you have completed and turned in your quiz, please spend the remainder of the class finalizing your group projects. You will be handing them in next week in class."

Flicking on the projector a list sprang up on the white screen.

The Quiz )

"Okay, I want you to take seven of these types of humor and list down places and times when they would be appropriate and when they would be inappropriate. If you want or feel you need extra credit you can also give me examples of the types of humor you choose. Any questions? Please begin."

[ooc: OCDs are on the way up Class is in session.]

Library - 12/5

After two nights of sound sleep Isabel was finally fully recovered from the weekend. She opened the library right on time, her usual mocha in hand along with an incredibly decadent strawberry danish. There were a few more in a bakery box on the counter for sharing should anyone want some.

"Good news kids!" Lorne exclaimed as the students took their seats. "With all the fun you had this weekend, I'm giving you a break from singing today. That's two weeks in a row you didn't have to sing for me so don't forget to be grateful."

"Instead you have an assignment for next week," Lorne said as he pulled out a box that he had Handwavey picked up from Sparky repairs and opened it. As soon as he opened it, little bots jumped out of the box and started to follow each of the students around playing different musical themes.

"The bots have been calibrated to sense your mood and play an appropriate song that suits that mood. Your assignment is to have your bot follow you around for one (or more) days and keep a log of what music it plays. Feel free to play around with your bot in class today, otherwise I'll see you next week."

"I do have some sad news to report Mary Decanter's parents have withdrawn her from school and will not be rejoining the class," Lorne said with a mournful look. "Though I don't understand why on the memo her name is listed as Marie D'Ancanto. That's it for me kittens! Mwah!"

[OOC: OCD is up. Please read OOC comment thread below. Mwah.]

"Good morning," Aly said as the class filed in and took their seats.  "You've probably all noticed that we're not in the Danger Room today.  That practical is going to be put until next week for a variety of factors at least partially having to do with the events of the weekend."

"For today, I'd simply like everyone to pair up and discuss a plan of attack for infiltrating and then finding the information you need in the castle."  She handed everyone  set of fairly good maps of the floor plan of the different levels.  She grinned.  "You don't get to keep the maps.  But whatever you want to do with them in class is fine."

"Go to, and I'll be here if you have any questions about proper strategy or ideas."

[OOC:  So the higher ups at my work showed up a day earlier than expected  This means minimal internet usage for me so I decided to put off the highly interactive class until next week when I actually can be around.  I'm sorry for the thrown together class.  I got an email late last night notifying me of the change and then Heroes distracted me. Aly probably won't ping in at all until after 5-6 EST, but she should be around all evening.  *pouts at silly corporate types not liking LJ*]

Elliot looked subdued as she waited for the students to gather. "Hi. I listened to the podcasts from the radio, and I know most of you spent the weekend either fighting trolls or stuck with me in Efferton. So, um, setting the weirdness of the entire thing aside? Easy class today, we're reviewing something you probably did in middle school, the food chain, which is a way of showing the transfer of energy inside an ecosystem. Basically, everything eats something else to survive, and I'm glad humans are not just troll buffets. A more complex and realistic system is called a food web or a food network."

She turned to the blackboard and began to sketch with multicolored chalk. "I can't draw, but this -" she added a ray to the sun and reached for white chalk -- "is a simple food chain. The sun makes the grass grow, the bunny eats the grass, the fox eats the bunny. Everyone is happy. Except the bunny. And the grass, if it has emotions."

She pushed her hair back. "Here's a handout of the concept. To show me you have it, you can either go back to the computers and play a game to put food webs together, or use the colored pencils and paper at your desks to draw your own food chains."

"A quick reminder, next week is our animal dissection, and the week after that is the final."

There's a sign on the door:

Class cancelled for today.
Teacher exhausted from being held captive all weekend.
Please look over your parts for the pageant.

[ooc: Sorry folks, work is still rather busy with the moving, and I won't be able to post later due to it being the younger bro's b-day.]

Ahoy, avast and welcome to the Spring Semester open application session for Fandom High students and teachers!

Things you all need to know:
* You have to be at least 18 years of age to apply.
* This application session is open to EVERYONE - current players and newcomers alike!
* All players can have a maximum of four characters total
* We will only accept a maximum of one student and one teacher per player in this application session (but you are welcome to send in as many applications as you like)
* Students are required to (when instructed) sign up for 3 classes and keep up with those classes.
* Teachers are required to teach at least 1 class per week (for the entire semester - that's 15 classes), keep an eye on your students, give them something to do each week and be accessible to students when needed.
* All accepted characters go on probation for the first two months. After that time, if there's anyone who's disappeared or is being a major problem, we'll talk to them about it and possibly remove them. But it's hard to get to the removal stage.
* Improvisation. Fandom High is a balance between planning and improvisation. Some people plan plots, but a lot of the day-to-day stuff is purely improvisation where you throw a bunch of characters together and see what happens.

What's needed to apply:
* Make sure that the character you want to apply with isn't already here
* Fill out the respective application form.
* Be prepared to create a journal for your character that will not contain entries from other games.
* Read the Fandom High handbook. It contains all the rules/guidelines you'll need.
* Time committment. This game is a LOT of fun, but things do happen quickly and it does require checking in a couple of times a week and throwing your character into threads wherever you find one you want.
* Language skills. Seriously, if you cannot write in complete sentences and use basic spelling and grammar people are going to want to throttle you. That being said, we don't expect perfection. But this game is based on interaction, and you're going to want people to be able to understand you or they won't want to interact with you.

What happens once you've applied:
Once your application has been received, we will send you an email to confirm that we got it. Applications will then be held until the application period is closed. We will sort through them and let you know whether your character has been accepted or not. Please note: if we get two or more applications for the one character, we will ask every person who applied for that character to send in a back-up in case they don't get their first pick, so have a second choice on hand!

Accepted players will be asked to create the journal for their character and to accept invitations to the game communities. New characters are allowed to start playing on January 2. There will be a big welcome post for you all.

Notes for Current Players:
* If you are planning on dropping a character at the end of this semester, please let the admin know ASAP.
* Although the prospect of apping a new character is shiny and delightful, please take into consideration whether you will be able to keep up with all of your characters. If characters are neglected, it could hamper your chances of getting new characters in the future.

Today, all the desks had been shoved aside and at the front of the room, a dart board had been set up. Off to one side, the communal practice fencing equipment was waiting, and across the room, there were texts on self-defense and, interestingly enough, books detailing homemade explosives which I'm not going to link because I'll be paranoid that I'll end up with government officials coming to take my computer away.

"Knowing your weapons is one thing," said V once everyone was assembled. "Many of us have a particular way we prefer to arm ourselves - a weapon that speaks to us, an ability upon which we depend. But it is vital that one hones all the skills. And so, today, I would like you to experiment with something with which you aren't familiar. Mr. Pevensie, for instance, I would ask you not to work with the fencing equipment. Mr. Durden, please stay away from the books on explosives. Find something you don't know. It may come in handy."

[The dart game is weirdly addictive. Just watch the dart moving at the bottom of the screen, press and hold down your mouse button when the dart stops where you want to throw. Hold down the button until the desired power level is reached, and release to throw.

If your character has really good aim/is great at darts AND is a fencer, go to the books which are absolutely moddable. Basically, do what you'd like in this period, but push your character into doing the unfamiliar.

Evie's... pretty much just wandering around the mouth of the site, taking pictures. Because while she's fine to do excavation work, it's pretty cold in the cave, and yeah, she might be having some claustrophobia issues. Just right now.
