Edmund is once again sitting on a stool behind the counter.

"Currying favor. It's a grand tradition. Call the person who curries favor well what you will, sycophant, lacky, brown noser - the fact of the matter is that the person who kisses up to the owner and the customer the best is the one who is going to get the promotions, the raises, and the days off when he or she asks for them."

Edmund stands up and favors the students with a smile that, by now, most recognize bodes ill for someone.

"Today you will break up into pairs and will be competing against your 'partner' for my favor. He or she who wins my favor will receive an All and Sundries gift certificate. How to win? Insult your partner, clean my shop, come up with a way to convince Baldrick to bathe, do something to make me happy. Succeed, and you win riches and possibly early dismissal. Fail, and you will be here for the entirety of today's session and I will send Baldrick to recite the grand tale of his great-grandfather's boil to you - the unexpurgated version."

Arts & Crafts Workshop #4, Camp Dining Hall, 07.31.06, Afternoon

[OOC: Whee, class. As with last session, you can wander around in afternoon posts taking pictures of stuff for your scrapbooks. Ask permission to jump into a post if you think the original poster might have an issue of some sort with you jumping in and taking pictures. Class Info Post]

"Hello, campers! Today we will be working on eggshell mosaics! A mosaic is a picture or pattern formed by piecing together small, colored pieces of some kind of hard material. Stone, tile, and glass are used in professional mosaics, but since we're just a summer camp, you get eggshells!"

"Your instructions are simple. Take some of the colored egg shells that are sorted up here at the front of the room, take an object - we have posterboards, boxes, cylinders, and even a couple of vases - and figure out some sort of picture or pattern to put on it, finally gluing the eggshells onto it, showcasing the newborn chick of artistic creativity! Here are some examples of finished projects."

History of (Earth) Music, Monday Afternoon

Lucas was back in the back room, waiting for the students.

"Right. We left off at medieval and Renaissance music. There was some stuff that came after, mostly opera, Beethoven, Brahms, big orchestra stuff, but I don't have a harpsichord and frankly I don't want one, so we're going to skip all that and move on to 18th and 19th century America, to something that inspired a lot of modern music, something which is referred to by ( a very not politically correct term )

At the end of class, Lucas got their attention one more time. "For next week, I'd like you all to bring in a recording, CD, tape, record, lyric sheet, what have you, of some of your favorite music, as well as some music that you personally dislike. This can be anything you like. See you guys then."

Baking Workshop 7/31, Monday Morning

Piper smiles as the students arrive. "Good morning. You're going to be making apple pie today. I was kind of sick this weekend so I didn't get a chance to make one for you. There are muffins from J,GOB, though. Feel free to take some."

She hands them a list of instructions. "Once again, there are a lot of instructions here, so feel free to work with a partner if you'd like. One of you can make the crust while the other makes the filling. And then you both can work together to assemble the pie. Ask questions if you have any."
