"Hello, students of Fandom! This is your Dean of Students, The Tick! This Saturday, detention shall be run by our very own Swedish Chef. The following students will be expected to report to him at nine o'clock:

"If you do not believe you earned this detention, let it be known that I am investigating this whole Detention Lottery thing and that I shall NOT rest until I figure out what exactly is going on with it! Nothing can deter me from my miss-- Ooh! I wonder what this button does..."

Feedback rang out over the loudspeakers.

"Keen! Anyway, have a good day, students, and stay out of further trouble. For Justice! We actually have a feedback button? How cool is that?"

The Chef was pretty much bouncing off the walls today. He was very excited about running detention tomorrow. Das Schnitzel looked worried. This probably wasn't the best idea ever.

Flight and Flying [Friday morning]

The flight simulator looked radically different than it had last week.

For one thing, there was only one. It was also longer, sleeker, and painted maroon and white.

Anakin leaned up against it with his eyes closed, holding a giant cup of coffee like it was the only thing keeping him upright--not entirely inaccurate--and waited for the class to arrive. When they came in, he put the box of cookies from J,GoB on a table and turned to face them.

( Oooh. Jedi starfighters! )

Anakin clasped his hands together. "Okay. You'll each get a chance to try the sim out to learn how it works. You'll be in a program set way out in space so there's nothing for you to hit if you can't figure out how to steer right away and stuff. Once you feel more comfortable, there'll be a choice of two courses to run through--one that's strictly testing you on mobility, the other than also allows you to use the laser cannons. You can try either one, or both if you're feeling especially motivated." Anakin closed his eyes and drank from his cup of coffee again. "Get to work."

Careers Fair, Fandom High Front Lawn, Friday Afternoon, 07/21/06

By lunch time, the booths were set up, the guests had arrived and there was quaint music playing from somewhere undetermined. Hawkeye is walking around with one of those portable microphone/speaker set-ups, roaming from booth to booth announcing the various guests that have come to Fandom to talk about their professions.

And despite what the mainland weather forecast said, it was definitely a nice, fine day.
