[OOC: Geh. I've been busy for the past whenever. Sorry guys.

note: both classes are identical in content, and differ only in time.]

*Question is muttering and scribbling out class notes on a whiteboard as the students filter in. The notes are mostly on the parts of a computer and what they mean. Stuff like that.

When they all finally get in and sit down, Question turns around, and begins to speak. He is slightly frazzled and looks like he hasn't slept for the few days he's been here. Teaching: Harder than being a vigilante.*

Right. Yesterday and the day before, we went over the basics of the rules, set up who sat where, and I told you what not to do. Any questions on that?

Now, I ask you: Who has NOT used a computer? You who have not, let me know, I'll help you. Have packets and everything.

The rest of you, how many of you know what the basic categories of parts of a computer are? Know binary?

No? Good. will be first thing that you learn today. Read this, and be amazed. Will also teach how to count on your hands. Very interesting. Count like that all the time now.

Homework? I have a sheet for converting from and to Binary. Finish it in class, and get to turn it in. Don't, and it will be the first homework you have.

Another Question: Why binary? Why use that system over another? There is more than one good answer.

Geh. When there is only twenty minutes left, we change gears and go to a different sort of tech system. The system of... The Closet. *ominous light flicker*
[identity profile] humanenigma.livejournal.com
*Question is asleep at his desk. It looks like he passed out in the middle of doing something. There is a pen in his hand and a notepad tucked underneath his other arm. There are notes from the previous classes writ up on the whiteboard, including wild scribbles with aliens and 1's and 0's.

If he were awake, he would be muttering about something awful being in The Closet. He would also be asking what, exactly do you people not know in this class? Seriously, you are too smart for 1A.

But, he is asleep.

On the projection screen: 'Write a program in Java that will take inventory of various items, such as computers and their accessories, and then write the same program into as many languages as you know. Wake the Question up before class is out.'

There is also a massive tarantula on Question's head. She looks positively comfortable with her perch on Q's head, and will not like being touched.*

*Rushes into class, flustered and sure she's late*

*looking at papers, not class*
Ok guys, sorry I'm late. I had meetings late last night with some of the press corps. Now we'll start up where I left off yesterday talking about modes of communication and how media interrupts human interaction. First if you...

*looks up, notices empty classroom*

*opens date book and realizes it's Saturday*

Oh. well, ok then. I suppose I'll just, um, I have...um
* turns and walks out the door, hoping no one sees her in the school*

Sighing in anticipation, Principal Connor walks up to the bulletin board in the main hall and posts a sheet of paper before walking away. The note says:

ATTENTION!

Enrollment for [livejournal.com profile] fandomhigh will reopen for one day only tomorrow. Tell your friends, tell your acquaintances, tell people you meet on the street. Enrollment will only occur during the hours that Principal Connor is awake (or at least conscious, or maybe just vertical and propped up in a chair in her office), which will be from noon to midnight EST on Sunday, September 11th. Please pass this information on and inform any new students who might want to apply. Make sure to refer to this post to make sure that the particular student you wish to enroll isn't already at the school.

Note -- please DO NOT reply here if you want to enroll. I will post another sign-up sheet tomorrow for this specific purpose. Thank you for your interest in our school, as dangerous and unpredictable as it might be.

Sarah Connor, Principal
Fandom High

(OOC: Just for the record, because I know people have been asking, the biggest reason I closed enrollment at this time -- aside from just to let things ease up a bit -- is because I'm moving in two weeks, so things will be a bit hectic for me and I don't want the comm enrollment to suffer because of it. But I'll have Sunday free, so ... you know. Go make a new RP journal and apply and stuff. ;))

It's nearly noon on Saturday by the time House stumbles in from a night out in the town. He'd passed out fallen asleep in the pub, and probably because of his bum leg, the owner let him sleep where he was.

He scans the note on his door. Definitely need to get those assistants in place, make sure someone is manning the clinic at all times. Or as much as possible.

He swallows a Vicodin, pills he takes for his leg, and heads to the elevators to go up to room 201...just to check on the situation.

[OOC: Sorry I missed the post last night! I'm leaving again in about 45 minutes (around 12:45 est) but I *will* be around tongiht if anyone needs the school nurse doctor.]

Ow.

I have to go to the infirmary now.

And I had such a good night...

Um, [livejournal.com profile] gotcanewillpoke? Do you know how to handle pulse-rifle blasts to the... er, thigh?
[identity profile] prisoner-rover.livejournal.com
*rover rolls around his new office of Security, squeaky-rubber noises as he squeezes through the small space between the desk and wall, adjusting the stapler on the desk which he eyes suspiciously before it gets nudged into the trash bin.*

*after witnessing the carnage in the [livejournal.com profile] fandomhighdorms decides some rules need to be instituted, along with the consequences of breaking them.*

*several failed attempts at writing them later, rover decides to take a roll around the campus to become familiar with the layout.*

*...after shoving the desk out the window*

*...making a note to open the window first next time*

Erm.

*clears her throat*

Hi! I'm Death, and I'm the school's guidance counselor - psychologist-type-thing. I definitely know you all, but I don't think most of you know me.

I promise, despite the name, that I'm totally safe.

So if anyone would like to or needs to talk, my doors are open. Yes, on weekends.

It's a Saturday morning and being a teenage boy, Pyro's doing what comes naturally to his kind -- that is to say, being studious and walking about the second floor of the school, backpack on shoulder and what looks like a sheaf of schematics in hand. He seems to be slightly confused as to where he's going, though -- and in fact walks past a certain door before stopping, turning, and heading back to his destination, which happens to be exactly one floor up from the Journalism classroom.

"So," Pyro says aloud, and knocks on the door before edging to one side just in case. He went to school with Iceman, Gambit, and Boom Boom for years, after all -- and Pyro's always been one to learn fast.

Haha, yes. It looks like we've got the place to ourselves.

Attention students of [livejournal.com profile] fandomhigh, human and otherwise –

Introduction to Cyborg Theory
Class to be held Monday nights at 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. – chiefly due to the fact that several films will be shown in this class to aid understanding of certain theories.

Course Description: This is an upper division elective course that will address the concepts of artificial intelligence, cyborgs, nano-tech, human-form robots from both a scientific and art (film, television, fine arts, etc) perspective.

Grade Evaluation: This is a pass/fail course. If you miss three classes, you will be put on probation from the class. After five classes missed, you will be allowed to withdraw or be given a failing grade.

This is a lecture/discussion course with a little research and a lot of fun films staring most of us, actually, errr….

Course Text: TBA

Instructor: I am Eighth of my kind; you may refer to me as Dr. Carter or Eighth, as you will. For more information, here's a brief history. And [livejournal.com profile] fandomhigh!RC is completely different (ie. far less slutty) than [livejournal.com profile] soapgatesgwun!RC, so don't get any funny ideas! *winks*

I highly recommend this class for all students who have had or will have dealings with artificial intelligence and the like. The best way to understand the enemy is to understand her perspective, eh?

Please comment if you wish to enroll.

My name is Beatrix Kiddo, you may call me Beatrix or Professor Kiddo, I don't mind either. I'm going to be the martial arts instructor here, as I have a lot of experience in the field myself. I will be offering martial arts classes to those students interested, and I just wanted to see how many people were interested and to see what kinds of martial arts you would like to see. So please tell me here. If you want to learn basic self defense or something more advanced, let me know. This is just so I can begin to put together a lesson plan and figure out times for classes.

Thanks,

Beatrix Kiddo

Good day to you, folks. The name is Pumpkinhead - Merv Pumpkinhead. I'll be takin care of this place from now on. 'm devoted to the noble janitorial arts and soon you'll wonder how you ever made do without me.

I'm staying in the shed behind the main building, so if you're needing something done, just give me a holler. Although I might not hear you on account of already performing my duties by hiding behind the shed.

If any of you have dealings with my old boss, [livejournal.com profile] game_of_you, tell him those cigar butts in the throne room were totally someone else's.

There's so much to do and so much to learn I don't even know if I'll ever be able to catch up with it all.

This is all so weird and interesting. I can't believe I'm finally out of the lab.

... if only I could remember it.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone wanted to be like a study buddy? I heard those are good to have.

Evelyn was nervous and extremely skittish.

She had plans with Belthazor for the night and she wasn't sure what appropriate wear was for one of these things. Luckily for her, different female students had contributed things to her outfit for the night. Now, standing in front of her mirror, all she could say was that she hoped he would like it.
