Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

Throughout the lawn, tables and chairs had been set up and scattered, some out in the bright, sunny center of everything, and some in the darker, more remote areas.

Eat up, folks! Don't let that food go to waste!

[OCD up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Edward had found a pitcher of water resting on a table somewhere. Looking at the food still made his stomach churn, but the water doused it some. He was sat underneath a tree, not yet presenting his best mood - it was a troubling situation he'd stumbled into - but he felt friendlier by the moment.

Oh sure the food looked good, and hundreds if not thousands of students had gorged themselves in previous picnics without ill results but that meant nothing to Barry.

Which is why he had a wireless probe in the potato salad and was analyzing the results on his tablet device.

Seifer wasn't the type to pass up the picnic. Mostly for the shock factor. It was always fun to see the newbies freak out.

Plus, it was easier to just toss some 'Needful Things is Hiring' flyers on one of the tables instead of hoping someone wandered to that corner of the island.

Also, food. Lots of food. And he was filling up his plate.

Excuse you, OCD, Isabelle would be breaking exactly as many newbies as she saw fit.

Okay, no, maybe she'd just flirt with some of them. She was wandering around the lawn, checking out newbies and slightly more unfamiliar oldbies alike. It was good to be aware of who was around! Especially if they were cute.

He thought he'd have been out of here by now.

So yes, mister Sunshine had sat down somewhere at the fringes with a plate and openly scowled at everyone in general.

It felt kind of weird being here now that he wasn't a student, but Stiles wasn't about to pass up on free food. He filled a plate up as high as he could and sat down at a picnic table to dig in.

Kaylin had never seen this much food in her life. She didn't particularly feel like eating after her portal trip, but who knew when she'd be offered food again?

She'd also never seen anything like most of this food before, so she was trying it out carefully with an increasingly happy smile.

Isaac was another one who couldn't resist free food, though he was having a little more restraint than Stiles was. Though he was probably eating more meat. Growing werewolf, needed protein and everything.

No amount of picnics was ever going to change Flick into someone who sought out people to chat and mingle with. Never gonna happen. He'd already done a lot of that by signing up for sibling duty.

Thus, he was going to stay mostly to himself unless he saw someone or something interesting enough to catch his attention. Nothing just yet, though. He'd just watch the new kids from afar.

Will found it a little strange to be attending another picnic. He'd thought he'd be back in Wisconsin by now but he still hadn't heard from home and he was beginning to think he'd been forgotten about by everyone but his friends.

But, he was pushing that out of his mind so he could enjoy the free food and the warmer weather.

Sparkle had made his way out here, of course, but really only to pick over the picnic tables and then find himself a place to sit and eat on the grass. He didn't seem too concerned about the new faces - either he'd get to know them or he wouldn't - and it had been too long and tiring and stupid a week for him to do his usual welcome song and dance number to drive the newbies nuts already.

It was a really nice day, and Evan had met his sibling, who seemed to be nice enough as well. Now it was time to just kind of sit and soak in the ambiance.

Or, rather, to attempt to read in the shade with a deinonychus curled up on one side of him and a corgi-husky cross sitting on the other. Occasionally, he would toss one or the other a cold cut from a place he'd salvaged from the food table. Old Lace had pretty excellent aim, snapping them right out of the air. Ozzy tended to end up with roast beef on his head, more often than not.

Evan would be lying if he said he didn't do it on purpose. He needed the laughs.

Felicity had been here for more than a half and hour and hadn't yet done anything horribly embarrassing yet. She'd call that a win.

Didn't mean she was going to risk disaster by getting too in the thick of things though. She filled up a plate full of veggies and picked a picnic table off to the side and people watched.

There was tea at the food table? That was good enough for Elsa.

Almost good enough for Elsa. She'd noticed that there were also chocolate squares of some sort, and so she had a napkin with a couple of those on there, as well.

How she was going to eat them without removing her gloves was anybody's best guess, but she was confident that she would figure it out. She took a spot at one of the tables and contented herself to people-watch while sipping her tea.

Kira may have still looked a little shell-shocked as she sat down with her plate. Her parents would probably freak out if they knew where she'd ended up, but she didn't want to leave and... yeah, maybe food would help for the moment.

Andros...did not know what most of this food was. He was sort of tentatively poking at things, trying to figure them out, and occasionally adding something to his plate if it bore a close enough resemblance to something he recognized. A sandwich, for instance. KO-35 had sandwiches, even if he was unsure of the filling on this one.

He hoped his Megaship uniform blended in well enough. He'd left the jacket off, so it was really just a red mock-turtleneck and grey pants. Maybe he should have untucked his pants from his boots? He had no idea. Zhane was always the one who was good at this sort of thing.

Vider would get some food later, after, of course, subjecting it to intense scrutiny for things like cranberries or--shudder--celery. For now, she was flitting through the crowd, looking for one new person in particular, though she might stop and talk to others along the way.

Nathan couldn't figure out how he'd ended up in America.

At a school where they seemed to be expecting him. The only saving grace was that everything was outside so that the buzzing in his head was lessened somewhat by the surrounding trees and grass and dirt.

Still, Nathan felt dizzy and confused. He hadn't removed the hoodie, sunglasses, scarf or gloves despite the sudden onslaught of warmer weather. No one here pinged as a Hunter just yet but he wasn't letting his guard down...even if he was going to eat some of the food.

He hadn't had anything this grand in long time. Probably forever.

Alana wasn't really that hungry today, oddly enough, so she filled a relatively modest plate with fruit and some sandwiches before taking a seat under a tree and going back to her book. She was curious about the new people, but she was just as curious about how her chapter was going to end.

Anders still wasn't sure to make of the place, but the people seemed friendly enough and there were no templars thus far, so he'd stay as long as it seemed safe.

Also, the food was much better than what they gave him in the Circle. He heaped his plate happily.

Alex filled her plate up with food and had a look round as she ate. So far Fandom was ...different to what she had expected, not that she had been entirely sure what to expect.
