Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

Throughout the lawn, tables and chairs had been set up and scattered, some out in the bright, sunny center of everything, and some in the darker, more remote areas.

Eat up, folks! Don't let that food go to waste!

[OCD up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"How much that's the case now?" Flick asked, smirking over at her. "Really like talking to me, hmm?"

Even if that wasn't what she meant, he was going to spin it that way because he could.

"I don't believe that's what I said," she told him, shaking her head. "And you should probably reconsider approaching that topic if you don't want it to affect your chances of doing something nice today."

"Something nice?" Flick repeated, raising an eyebrow at her. He crossed his arms and glanced over at her, wondering if he wanted to listen to her or not. "What's wrong with the topic at hand, anyway?

Well, that wasn't directly disobeying but he was curious.

Isabelle waved a hand. "It sounds potentially mushy, and I don't feel like mushy topics."

"I don't do mushy. Just truthful." And occasionally affectionate when the time was right and his mood was above average. "Can't deny the truth because it's right there."

Isabelle reached out to give his shoulder a little push.

"I don't know which truth you're referring to."

Oh, they were gonna push each other? Okay, he could do that. He returned her push with a little shove of his own.

"That you like talking to me," he reiterated after pushing her. "That you like being around me because I talk to you."

Isabelle dug her heels into the ground, though, and barely budged.

"No, I think you were trying to insinuate something about the level of that like."

"Hey, they were your words, not mine," Flick reminded her, not surprised that she hadn't really moved when he'd shoved her. "I was just telling you what I heard. That's all."

He was getting his nose flicked now.

"Jackass."

"Does that mean I don't get something nice now?" he wondered, rubbing his nose. He reached out and lightly kicked her leg. To keep things fresh and all.

Isabelle let her leg get kicked and just gave his foot a judgey look for that one.

"Depends on whether you can start behaving from now on."

"Oh Izzy, I'm not one to behave especially when you tell me to," Flick pointed out, shaking his head. "So, I don't think that's gonna happen. Sorry, sweetie."

Isabelle shrugged.

"Then I guess you're not going to get the sleepover I was going to invite you over for."

"I thought you liked it when I misbehaved," Flick said, tilting his head. "Besides, I haven't done anything that merited not getting something nice."

He didn't think so anyway.

"But seriously, why am I gonna behave when I know that's just gonna get boring for you?"

"So," she replied, raising an eyebrow, "you won't even behave when I'm specifically bribing you with nice things to do so?"

"In this case, I might behave," he relented with a nod, "because what you propose is something I think I want too."

There was no think about it.

"I just don't wanna get boring."

"Behaving for a little bit for a specific request is not going to make you boring," she told him, rolling her eyes. "Especially when it's in exchange for something you'll like that's not boring."

"Fiiiine," Flick said like she was making such an awful request of him. He was smiling though. Just a small, tiny smile. "I'll behave for you."

Well, there was about a ninety eight percent chance he'd behave. See, he hadn't even told her not to roll her eyes. Progress already.

Isabelle moved closer and gave him a brief kiss on the cheek. "Then there might be space for you, if you come by this evening," she said. "Bring your best pajamas."

"Will do," he murmured, smiling.

Though really, his best pajamas were gonna be shorts and a tee shirt. But, they'd be clean!

Isabelle gave his cheek another kiss, then smiled at him before pulling away and making her way back into the crowd.

She had more new kids to check out before the evening.
