Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

Throughout the lawn, tables and chairs had been set up and scattered, some out in the bright, sunny center of everything, and some in the darker, more remote areas.

Eat up, folks! Don't let that food go to waste!

[OCD up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Not really," Cade said, "but I have a couple of relatives who are insisting I stay here and spend time with them." He shrugged. "It's not like I have something amazing lined up at home instead, so whatever. The food here's good and mostly free."

"That I can agree with," she said, gesturing to her own plate. "Good food's really up there on reasons to stay someplace."

Shirtless guys was another.

"And they do this a few times a year," Cade said. "More if people are throwing parties."

"So a lot of free food," she said. "But does it make up for the weird stuff?"

"Kind of depends on your weirdness threshhold," Cade admitted. "If a talking pink pony is really gonna ruin your day, then the food might not help as much."

"Is the pony always the example people use?" Because if that was the worst of it then Felicity could deal.

"It's a pretty good indicator," Cade replied. "If that's too much, well..."

"Good point," she said. "I got more stuck on the fact she teaches."

"Well, she mostly teaches about friendship," Cade said. "Not knitting or fencing or anything."

Because that would be strange.

"You'd probably need opposable thumbs for that," Felicity said. "But I guess friendship is within a pony's range. I think."

Cade grinned. "She also has a party cannon."

"I take it that's exactly what it sounds like," she said. "Only with less death by balloons than I'm imagining."

"More like two tons of confetti absolutely everywhere. She's aggressively cheerful. I tend to stay waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over here from her, just in case."
