Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

Throughout the lawn, tables and chairs had been set up and scattered, some out in the bright, sunny center of everything, and some in the darker, more remote areas.

Eat up, folks! Don't let that food go to waste!

[OCD up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"So, people showing up through portals, not knowing what planet we're on let alone what state--is that pretty on par?" she asked. "My big sibling--sorry, guide told me I have to keep an open mind."

"Yeah that would be a good idea," Stiles said with a nod. "The more ridiculous something sounds, the more of a chance it's probably real."

"Oh, good." Did she sound reassured? She was certainly trying. "If you graduated, you must have gotten used to everything by now."

"For the most part," he said with a nod. "But I was used to weird before that. You'll get used to it pretty quickly. Probably find some of the stuff cool."

What with her weird knowledge of Japanese demons and everything.

"It has been pretty cool so far," Kira admitted. "I'm not sure what I'm going to tell my mom when she calls to check in." Because of course she didn't know what this place was like. Obviously. "Did you ever have to lie to your parents?"

"All the time. I was a student here for almost a year before I told my dad," Stiles shared. "But it's best to prepare them some if they decide to visit. Springing it on them might cause heart attacks in older folk."

"I'm annoyed at my parents for sending me here without asking, but I don't really want to kill them." The first time she turned into a boy, she might change her mind. "If they came to visit, I guess they might believe me."

"They would kind of have to if they saw some of the stuff that goes on here," Stiles said. "That sucks you got sent here against your will though. I did too, starting out."

"It doesn't sound like you mind now though," Kira pointed out hopefully. "I'm trying to keep an open mind. It doesn't sound like I'll be bored, at least."

"I can't tell if you mean that in a completely good way," Kira said. "You know, like 'Be careful what you wish for?'"

"Some of it can be...not so good," he said, thinking of the dungeon. "But most of it is harmless. Hilarious most of the time, actually."
