Max had left her bike stashed somewhere and was currently exploring this island.

She came upon the picnic and realized she was at some kind of school. Huh. For some reason, she found this place intriguing. It certainly needed further scrutiny.

Karal was happily mingling, in his robes (it was a special occasion; formal was called for) and warm cloak, with Altra padding by his side.

Their mingling tended to be centred around the food tables, because a certain Firecat kept demanding to be fed.

Amber sat down an an out of the way spot; a chair under the overhang of a large tree. It's not that she was hiding, per se, it was just that this was new. New school. New people. Slightly intimidating.

Andrew was determined not to be a wallflower today, so he headed right for the center of activity.

He then just stood there, smiling at random people and trying to figure out what to do with his hands to look cool.

Being merry was what Rikku did best. She was bouncing around at the picnic, wandering, grabbing snacks, making chit-chat, and having a grand old time. As you do.

Isabel got herself a hot chocolate then found a spot off to the side to sit and watch. It was weird to think this was one of the last times she'd be doing this.

It was always nice not to be the newest anymore. So, Lee was out at the picnic, checking out who was the newest now.

And wondered if they'd be talked into taking off their shirts too.

Evey found herself a quiet place to sit down, to watch and observe. They did seem like kind people, for the most part. Finch hadn't been wrong about that.

Chad felt like he had a little bit of time before work and Melody wouldn't mind (he hoped) if he opened the store a little late today, so he came out to meet a few people before being a slave to the records. He found a particularly sturdy picnic table, sat down with Prince Oscar Pedro Neko-kun the Third, his hairless sphinx cat, and his guitar, playing lightly with the occasional glance around for particularly interesting new kids.

Carmela's wandering around the lawn with a plate full of chips that she's occasionally nibbling at, checking out the new people. Especially any new *guys*, yes.

Hoshi usually avoided crowds. Today, though, she was feeling a bit more confident about her ability to deal with it and she did want to get out there to meet some of the new students. She grabbed a soda and stood a little bit away from where everyone else was gathered since old habits died hard.

Brooke decided to do a lap, check out the crowd, see if there was anyone (read: boys) worth her time... You know, the usual things you got to do on a new scene.

And okay, as "scenes" went, this wasn't exactly the hippest party, but she'd take what she could get.

While Turtle had a few.....reservations about leaving Apu in charge of the store for a while, thus possibly giving him the chance to totally screw up some first impressions of any new customers coming in while she was gone, she decided that networking with her fellow students was much more important. She bounced, slightly...or, rather, a lot...and looked around for friendly faces to pounce on meet.

Liir wasn't mingling, per se. He had no experience (as it was very hard to mingle with the same people two people that you saw every day) and wasn't particularly interested in finding out just how ignorant he was compared to everyone else here... but he was curious.

As such, he was wandering around, simply listening and watching people, trying to get a feel for being anyone but himself.

In other words, normal.

Leaning against the tree she'd sought support from the last time one of these large events happen, Adah just quietly watched, clutching a notebook to her chest as she started to take in a whole new plethora of faces to memories and watch and privately make fun of in her own little world of palindromes and reversals and superiority.
