Never let it be said that Reno of the Turks was antisocial.

Granted, he didn't seem terribly thrilled to be here. But he was here. And that had to be good for something, yo.

[Ooc: Just a note that I am leaving for work in about two hours, so I'll get all the pinging I can do in asap, and then will catch pings when I get home- about eight hours after that.]

Oh. Well. He was certainly hot. Ino wandered over and grinned, "New, right?"

"New. Right." Hot and cranky, but when approached by pleasant young women, Reno wasn't going to just brush her off. "It that obvious?"

She raised her eyebrows, amused, "Think I'd have noticed you around before if you weren't. There's not that many people around here."

"Ah, the observant type, yo." Reno had to smirk at that. "You been here long, then? Please tell me there's more to this place than endless warnings about glitter."

Observant when it came to cute boys maybe. "I started in September," she laughed, "and there's quite a bit more than glitter to Fandom." Not, mind, that she had anything against glitter.

"Haven't had a run-in with the stuff, and I'm already not a fan." Reno stuck out his tongue around his grin. "Gonna take a lot more than threats of glitter to win me over to this place, yoto."

Not that the quantity of quality femmes wasn't swaying him at all.

"There's also random invasions," Ino told him off-handedly, watching for his reaction, "If that's more your style than glitter."

"Like, monsters and shit?" He shoved his hands into his pockets, tilting his head faintly. "Sounds a bit more up my alley, yo."

"I've heard about dinosaurs and trolls," Ino said with a grin, "You like fighting then?"

"Like it? It's part of my job." He didn't mean to look as smug as he did, really. It just came naturally to him. "Keeps things interesting. You some kinda fighter too, yo?"

"It's my job," she beamed, "I'm a ninja."

"There a lot of people around here who fight for a living? I'm startin' to get a different concept of this place already." Reno had expected something a little more like a prep school. A bunch of kids running around all hours of the night with books and coffee or something far less interesting. "So. I avoid glitter, and keep an eye out for trolls, dinosaurs, and good-lookin' girls. Any other advice?"

"Um," Ino thought about it, "I think maybe half the students are pretty decent fighters and I know more than that have at least some training?" It was just an estimate. "Same with the teachers. For a lot of us this is pretty much a vacation. Advice? Don't make assumptions. It only makes things complicated."

"Got it." Reno was taking mental notes, here. "No assumptions, yoto. Classes any good around here?"

He had to know if he'd be planning things around classes, or drinking through them, after all.

"It really, really depends on what classes you're in." Ino said seriously, "Some are a total waste of time. What classes are you in?"

"Some interactive religion thing, an ethics class, and... the art of cool. Apparently, cool is an art, yoto? And here I thought that people like you and me just came across it naturally."

She did like him. Yes. "Maybe it's a class for those who want to learn, and you can be a living example." Ino laughed. "I don't know about the religion thing, but ethics? Ugh. Master Skywalker's crazy strict and I disagreed with pretty much everything he said. That being said, he's the type that'll track you down if you don't go. So it's easier just to show up."

"Sounds like a challenge. See how long I can get away with it." Not that Reno was looking for trouble. Really. Truly. "Keeps things interesting, yo."

"You're going to get detention." Ino predicted. She understood the urge for a challenge, but really. One detention had been enough.

"I'm not worried about detention," Reno said with a shrug. "Hear it's not just about writing lines, still not worried. You figure I should be?"

"My one and only detention had me running from a horde of alien monsters with only an unfamiliar weapon for protection." Ino told him. "Writing lines isn't in the equation."

Reno stared for a moment.

And another moment.

And then he grinned.

"I'm gonna have to aim for detention as often as possible, I'm thinkin."

That made her laugh. "You're crazy, you know that?" She grinned, "I like that. What's your name anyway?"

"Reno," he was hating this place less and less all the time. "Didn't catch yours, either, yoto."
