She did like him. Yes. "Maybe it's a class for those who want to learn, and you can be a living example." Ino laughed. "I don't know about the religion thing, but ethics? Ugh. Master Skywalker's crazy strict and I disagreed with pretty much everything he said. That being said, he's the type that'll track you down if you don't go. So it's easier just to show up."

"Sounds like a challenge. See how long I can get away with it." Not that Reno was looking for trouble. Really. Truly. "Keeps things interesting, yo."

"You're going to get detention." Ino predicted. She understood the urge for a challenge, but really. One detention had been enough.

"I'm not worried about detention," Reno said with a shrug. "Hear it's not just about writing lines, still not worried. You figure I should be?"

"My one and only detention had me running from a horde of alien monsters with only an unfamiliar weapon for protection." Ino told him. "Writing lines isn't in the equation."

And then he grinned.

"I'm gonna have to aim for detention as often as possible, I'm thinkin."

That made her laugh. "You're crazy, you know that?" She grinned, "I like that. What's your name anyway?"

"Reno," he was hating this place less and less all the time. "Didn't catch yours, either, yoto."

"I'm Ino," she told him with a toss of her head, "and don't you forget it."

"Wouldn't dream of it," he replied with a nod.

... If only because her name sounded so similar to his own.

"Good," she nodded, "I'd hate to have to try and pound you." Well, no, she'd probably enjoy the challenge.

"It would make rememberin' your name that much more interesting," Reno shrugged. "Might have to forget it on purpose sometime. Just to mix things up, yo."

"If you ever feel like sparring you could always just ask," Ino told him, rolling her eyes, "if I'm not busy, I'll always say yes. I'm in Room 504, so you can't even claim you don't know where to find me."

"Just a short trip down the hall. I'm in 501." Convenience was a grand thing for lazy types like himself. "Any good places to spar around here, anyhow?"

He was just full of questions today.

"I like the roof of the dorms." Ino said, not minding the questions at all, "and the preserve's pretty good too. There's the gym, but that's boring, you know?"

"The gym's too typical. Give me a busy street or a cramped hallway any day of the week. Gives it all a little variety." And as far as fighting went, Reno had gotten a good deal of variety in his lifetime.

"And it's better training anyway," she agreed, "I mean, how many real fights actually take place in a gym?"

"Can't think of any offhand. Too organized. Who wants to fight in a place where the worst thing they can hit you with is a medicine ball?" Boooooring.

"Exactly, there's no challenge at all in that. The more complicated, the more fun it is."

"There's gotta be roads and billboards and shit that can fall on you, at least. Throw in a couple of monsters for good measure. Maybe a bomb..." Things blowing up? Always interesting.

Ino stared at him, then grinned, "I totally want to visit your world if it's like that." Because that would be way too much fun.

"What, your world isn't?" Reno had to take a moment to feel special, here. First conversation about worlds, and he was already acting like some sort of travel brochure. "Midgar was one hell of a city before everything went to shit. Not many places can boast being the home of evil demonic houses that jump outta nowhere to try to kill you, yo."

Yes, she knew he'd said more than that. But her mind got stuck on that one thing.
