Brooke decided to do a lap, check out the crowd, see if there was anyone (read: boys) worth her time... You know, the usual things you got to do on a new scene.

And okay, as "scenes" went, this wasn't exactly the hippest party, but she'd take what she could get.

"New person?" It wasn't the nicest greeting but Lee thought it worked. "Or old person I haven't met yet?"

Ooh, maybe a little short for her liking, but she could look past that. "New," she smiled, offering her hand. "Brooke. You?"

"Semi old," he said and shook the offered hand. "Lee. I've been around for a few months now."

"You thought I might?" Lee repeated. "Am I wearing a sign that gives it away?"

In wandering around, it was then that Jaina saw the girl who was doing the same thing. You know, the girl who looked a little familiar.

"You have got to be kidding me," she told Fandom at large.

Brooke was just within earshot to hear that, and had to turn around when she heard it. Not that she was expecting to see what she saw when she did.

"I'd say you took the words out of my mouth but I think you did exactly that," she said, staring.

"What's your name?" Jaina asked. She really should have known this sort of thing would happen sooner or later. She'd probably brought it on herself.

"New shoes?" John asked with a little smirk. Not that he'd ever minded leaning down to greet Jaina. Which was what he started to do.

"Yeah, but that's not necessarily a good thing," Brooke said, thrown off by the question. But he was cute, so she'd forgive it. So far she was liking this place. "Interesting line, though."

"Hey. You're a new girl," Dick said. She looked a little familiar but Dick knew that new person mingling face by now.

"I was hoping it wasn't that obvious," Brooke said, offering her hand. "Brooke."

"I'm Dick," he said, shaking her hand. "Your newness isn't too obvious. I've just been here for about a year so I can pick out the new kids easily."

"That's seriously your name?" Brooke asked, because she couldn't not ask. "That's either really unfortunate or really... not."

"Yep, that's seriously my name," Dick said with a grin. "I prefer to see the positive aspects of it. Like, um, people can't really call me a dick. I'm sure there's more positives but they aren't really coming to me right now."
