"I feel less overwhelmed," Lee told her with a shrug. "There were a lot of people here when I did this whole picnic thing as a new student. I had no idea what the frak was going on."

Adah gave a light grin. "I don't remember if I went to the picnic. If I did, I probably just sat and watched everyone. Like I did this time, only I think I've made some improvements in the situation."

"It wasn't too bad," Lee recalled. "Girls really liked telling guys that they should take their shirts off. Other than that, it was just a lot of talking. See, now I know how it goes so I can just stand out of the way and watch with you."

Adah chuckled a little, glancing toward his naked arm around her. "So nothing much has changed since last time, I see, as far as the shirts go. You think my way, over all, is better, though?"

"I like it better," he said with a decisive nod. "I'm more relaxed this way. Not worrying about being new and out of place and trying to do things right just to make sure I don't things wrong. Or something like that."

Adah took a moment, head bobbing slightly, as she reordered that all in her head to make sure she got it right. It required a lot of flipping and switching and turning things backwards, but she was pretty sure she got it. "Not worried about doing things incorrectly with me?" she asked, curious.

"Well, I am," he admitted, smiling, "but if I do, I know you'd just tell me I was doing something wrong and tell me to stop. And then I wouldn't be doing anything wrong anymore."

Adah hadn't really been expecting an answer like that, but she did like hearing it, smiling warmly as she shifted deeper into his embrace. "I think you'd be pretty hard pressed," she assured him, "to do anything wrong. Not that you should use that as an invitation to slack off, of course."

"That's good to hear," he said and held on a little tighter because he could. "I won't be slacking off, I promise. I save my laziness for when laziness should be used."

Adah maintained her warm smile. "I do like your kind of laziness," she admitted, remembering her exposure to it rather fondly.

"Something else I'm good at," he agreed, "and always willing to share with certain people. Co-laziness is the best kind."

"Certain people, huh?" Adah asked, before she could wrestle the beast back and stop herself. She tried, poorly, to cover it up with a light, breathy sort of laugh. "And I agree. Sometimes. It's definitely more interesting than singular laziness, I will give you that."

"Certain one person," he clarified. "You happen to know her, imagine that."

"Do I, now?" Adah asked, quirking her head a bit more than she had intended, but those were tics for you. He rather did like to play this particular kind of game, didn't he? She didn't mind, though. She rather liked it. "You don't say. What's she like? So I can try to figure out who you mean."

"She likes my arms," he said and laughed. "And she likes to be kissed."

Which wasn't very descriptive but he was feeling playful. Maybe the cold was affecting his brain.

Adah rolled her eyes a little, awkwardly (and mostly missing his side entirely) moving her elbow back in an attempt to nudge him. "Good job," she deadpanned the compliment, "you probably narrowed it down to probably ninety percent of the island's female population. Thank Dog you used a pronoun, so that I could at least eliminate the males."

The nudging made him laugh and her words made him laugh even harder. "Are you asking for more hints?"

Looking sour over his laughing, although she knew he couldn't particularly see it well, she said, very firmly, "Yes."

"Hmm. She works in the library," he said, thinking that was a good hint.

"Hmmm," Adah mused, tilting her head thoughtfully. "That does narrow it down a bit. In fact, I think I have a much better idea now, but I might need another hint."

"Another hint." Thinking he was clever, Lee leaned forward and kissed her cheek. "I just kissed her."

Despite herself, Adah laughed a little at that. She didn't want to, but she couldn't help it. She shouldn't be encouraging him like that. But it did rather derail the whole direction she had planned on taking it, so perhaps she just didn't know what else to do. She didn't mind the derailing, though. Not when it gave her a nice, soft kiss on the cheek like that.

And the chance to make fun of him about it. "If you can even call that a kiss."

"Are you making fun of my kisses?" Lee asked, feigning shock.

"Noooo," Adah said, carefully, ducking her head slightly. "I just think you can do better, that's all. I expected....you know...excellence. Not mediocrity."

He gaped at her. "I took my shirt off in the cold and now you're making fun of my kisses. My heart, it is breaking. I'd have to trade hugging for kissing."
