"That's good to hear," he said and held on a little tighter because he could. "I won't be slacking off, I promise. I save my laziness for when laziness should be used."

Adah maintained her warm smile. "I do like your kind of laziness," she admitted, remembering her exposure to it rather fondly.

"Something else I'm good at," he agreed, "and always willing to share with certain people. Co-laziness is the best kind."

"Certain people, huh?" Adah asked, before she could wrestle the beast back and stop herself. She tried, poorly, to cover it up with a light, breathy sort of laugh. "And I agree. Sometimes. It's definitely more interesting than singular laziness, I will give you that."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Certain one person," he clarified. "You happen to know her, imagine that."

"Do I, now?" Adah asked, quirking her head a bit more than she had intended, but those were tics for you. He rather did like to play this particular kind of game, didn't he? She didn't mind, though. She rather liked it. "You don't say. What's she like? So I can try to figure out who you mean."

Re: General Mingling

"She likes my arms," he said and laughed. "And she likes to be kissed."

Which wasn't very descriptive but he was feeling playful. Maybe the cold was affecting his brain.

Adah rolled her eyes a little, awkwardly (and mostly missing his side entirely) moving her elbow back in an attempt to nudge him. "Good job," she deadpanned the compliment, "you probably narrowed it down to probably ninety percent of the island's female population. Thank Dog you used a pronoun, so that I could at least eliminate the males."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
The nudging made him laugh and her words made him laugh even harder. "Are you asking for more hints?"

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
Looking sour over his laughing, although she knew he couldn't particularly see it well, she said, very firmly, "Yes."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Hmm. She works in the library," he said, thinking that was a good hint.

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Hmmm," Adah mused, tilting her head thoughtfully. "That does narrow it down a bit. In fact, I think I have a much better idea now, but I might need another hint."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Another hint." Thinking he was clever, Lee leaned forward and kissed her cheek. "I just kissed her."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
Despite herself, Adah laughed a little at that. She didn't want to, but she couldn't help it. She shouldn't be encouraging him like that. But it did rather derail the whole direction she had planned on taking it, so perhaps she just didn't know what else to do. She didn't mind the derailing, though. Not when it gave her a nice, soft kiss on the cheek like that.

And the chance to make fun of him about it. "If you can even call that a kiss."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
"Are you making fun of my kisses?" Lee asked, feigning shock.

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Noooo," Adah said, carefully, ducking her head slightly. "I just think you can do better, that's all. I expected....you know...excellence. Not mediocrity."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
He gaped at her. "I took my shirt off in the cold and now you're making fun of my kisses. My heart, it is breaking. I'd have to trade hugging for kissing."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
"All I get from you," Adah said with a heavy sigh that truly weighed her shoulder, the good one, down. Down and increasingly against him, "is talk, talk, talk, talk, talk. You talk too much. You could be proving me wrong, right now, you know."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't talk that much," he said quietly, shifting and moving until he was facing her, hands on her cheeks and just smiling at her. "I talk just enough."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
Sucking in a deep breath as she looked up at the Eel, glowering slightly, but playfully, as her toes wiggled with his hands on her cheeks, she tried to calculate whether or not her neck would allow her stretch enough to just get her damn kiss herself, but she doubted it. So there was just more glowering and an insistent, "No. Too much. Just kiss me already."

And, for good measure, she added, "Please?"

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
"Okay," was all he said before leaning forward, hands tightening slightly on her cheeks and lips soft and easy against hers for a moment before pressing deeper, intent on showing that he could talk a lot but kiss even better.

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
It was a good thing, too, for the Eel's sake, for getting her to say something like please, that it was a good kiss; anything less would have had to invoke a wrath of epic proportions. But it certainly was good; she started melting into it before his lips even brushed against hers, those hands on her cheeks There was a soft sound in the back of her throat, eager, grateful. She'd like to think that she'd like to play coy on this one, to tell him that she wasn't at all convinced and that he should keep trying, but that was something her body was certainly not going to cooperate with her brain on.

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Her response encouraged him, made him smile and he slipped one hand from her cheek to curl around her shoulders, bringing her closer to him. He pulled away for a moment, just to take a breath, just to smile at her, before he was kissing her again, nipping at her lower lip just to change things up a bit.

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
Funny how they kept finding themselves in this situation, him shirtless, holding her tightly as she completely fell into those awfully good kisses of his. And, to think, they'd be back to working at the library next week, too... She wished, though, that her attempts to return the kisses could be better; that the arching of her back in response to him pulling her closer was more voluntary than a sharp, almost painful tick; that her tight, squared shoulders would loosen, seized with a neurological confusion of paralization, that she could do something more than just lean up and succumb to the way her head was spinning.

"You feel nice," Lee mumbled, pressing kisses against her cheek and temple. "Nice. Warm. I like holding you. I like kissing you. And I like telling you that."

[Craaashing soon, stupid work tomorrow.]
