For about thirty seconds.

"...Have you gone mad?" he asked, "Now I've got breast-signage in my head!"

Andrew winced. "I'm sorry. I was just, you know, concerned for her person." He gestured at his injured face.

"You didn't, like, scare her away did you?"

"...I don't think so," Jeff said, but he sounded roughly as sure as... something terminally unsure. "Do you think I did? I may have overmentioned faces."

"I'm sure you didn't. She probably just thinks you're, you know, a little off, or something." Andrew nodded. "I mean, it's not like you hit her in the face or accused her of being an alien time bomb."

"There's that," Jeff allowed, and completely failed to get the point of the statement, "I haven't told her I'm an amphibian lung expert, either."

"Are you an amphibian lung expert?" Andrew asked. "Does Robin know? I'm sure he would want to know just in case he decided to take up smoking or something like that."

"I don't know anything about frogs," Jeff said, "Or lungs, for that matter. There was just sort of an incident and the concept may have gotten out."

"Ah, kind of like when my older brother managed to convince all my friends that I was actually a girl and it got around school and I had to go to the school nurse with my teacher to prove to them that it was just a nasty rumor? That kind of thing?"

"And then your mother makes you stroll down her knitting circle in your underwear?" Jeff reached over with the signless hand to give Andrew a bit of a commiserating shoulder pat.

"Um, right," Andrew replied. "Makes you not want to wear knit sweaters, huh?"

Jeff nodded. "And avoid open televisions," he added, wisely.

"I'll keep that in mind," he said. "What constitutes an 'open' television?" Yes, there were air quotes.

"You know. Open." Jeff engaged in a series of complex and incomprehensible gestures. "No back on," he clarified.
