Turtle was a whole mess of blinking as she suddenly found herself in the possession of a new sign, which she took a brief look at before looking at Jeff, frowning questioning. "What's....what's wrong, Jeff?" She drew in a tentative breath. "What did you do, Jeff?"

Because it, of course, brought to her attention that this was Jeff, there were a lot of people, and those were never good combinations.

"It's the sign!" Jeff proclaimed, taking several steps backwards and making warding-off gestures at it. "The Sibling Sign! It's evil. First it attacked That Weird Bloke Andrew and then there were mentions of breast-signage! How could anyone mention breast-signage to a man with a sibling sign?!"

Turtle blinked at the sign, which, in all honesty, seemed pretty harmless to her, and then looked toward Jeff with a frown. Yeah. She was just so sure it was the sign that attacked Andrew, uh-huh. "Was it you who mentioned the breast signage, Jeff?" she asked, because that part of his story seemed a little off, too.

"No, he mentioned the breast signage! He wanted to know if the sign had attacked Teyla's breasts!" Jeff paused. "Which it shouldn't, 'cos she's my sister now, you've got to be careful with your siblings. And their breasts."

Okay, first Student Council meeting of the new semester? Turtle was going to suggest a tighter screening process on who should be allowed to have a Little Sibling. Turtle massaged her forehead a little with one of her hands before she said, "Okay. Let me see if I'm understanding this right. This sign, allegedly, 'attacked' Andrew, and then he wanted to know if they attacked Teyla....your new sibling?...'s breasts. Did it? Attack her breasts, that is?"

And, just great, that was all she needed a sibling and a new roommate with breasts.

"Of course not!" That was just ridiculous. And offensive. Jeff was offended. Much like a small, offended puppy. "That would have been rude. And very unpractical. She's my sister."

"That's right," Turtle gave a firm nod and drove the point firmly into place, "she's your sister." Not that Turtle was worried or anything. "So, but, yeah, I guess...I'll hold onto the sign for you? So it doesn't attack anyone else?"

"Could you?" Jeff asked, and now his puppy dog was hitting a distinct pleading edge. "I don't think I'm meant to wield the powers of the sign."

Turtle nodded. "I think I could do that for you, yeah," she said, tucking the sign under her arm and giving Jeff a small smile. "So? Sign problems aside, how's your day been so far?"

Jeff looked at her for a moment, his mind sorting through the day's impressions while his eyes stumbled somewhat downwards. "You don't have an extra bed anymore," he told Turtle's chest in a sad and drooping fashion.

"...Yeah," Turtle, her weight shifting apprehensively between her feet, ducked her head, too; her hands went to fiddle with a spot at the back of her neck, where her braid would have been about half a year ago, a nervous tick she hadn't actually done in a long time. She looked back up with an apologetic look. "You saw that, too, huh? ...Sorry."

Jeff scratched at the back of his head, too. The fiddling was contagious. "I suppose you could also Extra Bed in my room," he offered. "Of course, I've only got the one bed, but Peter wouldn't mind..."

[identity profile] stocksgrrl.livejournal.com 2008-01-04 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"Maybe Kara won't mind sometimes, either," Turtle admitted, turning a little red. "She says she's used to stuff like that, 'cause she lived with her cousin and his girlfriend, so maybe she won't mind. Too much. If it happened sometimes...."

[identity profile] scary-jeff.livejournal.com 2008-01-04 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"We could have a Shared Bed Clause?" Jeff offered, hopefully.

Turtle bit her lip; that didn't help with the red in her face or the shifting between one foot to the other, but she gave a firm, business like nod. "We could..."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] scary-jeff.livejournal.com 2008-01-04 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Jeff nodded. Slowly. Now he was blushing, too. "...Only if you want to," he added. "I wouldn't want to shove a bed on you. You know. Contractually."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] stocksgrrl.livejournal.com 2008-01-04 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Turtle, the red now in full force, gave her head a quick, insistent shake. "No, no! I'd want to! You wouldn't be shoving anything on me, really!"

[identity profile] scary-jeff.livejournal.com 2008-01-04 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
"Okay!" Jeff nearly shouted, and he would have gestured, but he was currently too paralyzed to do so, "It's a contract, then!" Pause. He stuck out his hand. "Shake on it!"

Because that made sense.

But it was a contract. It did make sense. And it was probably one of the most enthusiastic, red-faced handshake that Turtle, with her usual firm grip business-like grip in tact, had ever done. "It's a deal!"
