Annette was too surprised to rightfully glomp back. "Heeey you!"

"Hey," he said, moving to take a seat next to her. "You scare any new kids yet?"

"No," she said, wondering at that glomp. Dick never glomped her. "I pretty much just got here and got a cookie," she held the half-eaten chocolate chip cookie up. "What about you?"

He shook his head. "Not yet. Trying to pick out the right person to torture."

"Think I'm just going to chill this time around; you know, just watch," she said, looking over the crowd. "Thanks for the flowers. What were they for?"

"Well, you know, with all the new kids coming there might be some new competition for your affection," he said. "So I had to make sure you didn't forget about me."

"... and should I be doing the same for you?" she asked, eyebrow quirked. "Looks like there's a lot of new pretty girls here."

"Really? You think so?" he said, looking around. "I'm not impressed."

"Liar," she grinned. "It doesn't matter. You want to go talk to any, I don't care..."

"I speak the truth," he said. "But I'm glad to know I have your blessing should I want to talk to any of the new girls."

"Not like you need it," Annette smirked. "I was being caustic."

"I have absolutely no idea what caustic means."

She tilted her head back and laughed. "Doesn't matter sweetie; just as long as you know I'm cool with whatever you want to do."

Dick sometimes thought Annette liked the fact that he was sorta dumb. Not that he minded. Cause he was dumb.

"Oh, well," he said. "That's good to know."

Aww, no she didn't. She thought it was totally cute.

"Same for me, right?"

"Absolutely," he said. "You mingle away."

Annette didn't feel like mingling; she just wanted to see what he would say.

"So... do you want me yet?"

"What? Right here?" he asked. "Shouldn't we find a dark corner or something?"

"God, no, I don't mean here," she said, blushing and looking away from him. "I just meant, you know... it's been awhile and..." did she sound desperate? Ah, god.

"I mean, nevermind, and... stuff."

"Of course I want you," he said, smirking at her blush. "What made you think I didn't? I mean, you weren't exactly all over me the other day so I just figured you didn't want to."

She gave him a look. "You weren't all over me either. You're a guy. I figured you would have attacked me."

"So we were both confused. No big deal," he said. He would have added a comment that he thought that maybe she had been too tired from flirting with A.J. all day (yes, he had heard radio) but at this point he figured that would lead to more drama on her part. Cause Dick never did drama. Not ever. No way.

"Look, I'm sorry," he said. He supposed that's what she wanted to hear. "I was just tired. I hate that whole portal thing."

Annette was seriously working on the drama part. Seriously. And she probably wouldn't talk about A.J., just cause. "I don't know, probably." Though she didn't think that was it at all.

"Yeah, portals suck for that. Honestly though? Haven't been much in the mood for it anyhow..." she liiiiied, omigod.

"So... you got all signed up for classes?"

Dick was thinking she better get in the mood, goddammit. He didn't say it but the look he gave her probably gave what he was thinking away.

"Yeah. I'm taking Barney's class and something else I just picked at random," he said. "What about you?"

That look sure did and Annette might have smirked a little, thinking he better be putting the moves on her did he want to get any later.

"Umm..." god, what did she take? "Two classes about law. Should be interesting."
