"I'm really surprised I actually let it slip my mind," Adah admitted, taking a shameless moment to linger before allow herself to settle back into their previous position.

And also, she was surprised that he didn't just try to take her up on the offer later. It was good to know that she was either that influential or that he was that pliable, but, at the same time, there was a lot more it could lead to if he'd held it off for another time, another more private place.

Still, could she really complain? Really?

"I give such good hugs that the sensations my hugs produced overwhelmed you," he deadpanned before snickering.

"Yes," Adah deadpanned right back, "of course. That must be it. You go ahead and keep believing that."

In the meantime, she was just going to lean here and enjoy this.

"I will," he said with a nod. "I should get an award. Hug everyone so they could see."

Re: General Mingling

Adah didn't exactly like to think of herself as the jealous type. Sloth, pride, greed, lust. Those were all sins she would support in a second; she never really thought too much on envy, and yet, there she was, blinking at the idea of the Eel going around, hugging everyone and awakening them to just how nice it felt.

"You can't just take my word for it?"

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
"I could," he said and nodded. "I can. Hugging everyone would take time away from hugging you anyway."

He knew that was cheesy but when had that stopped him?

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Cheesy, yes, but she was used to cheesy and it helped to satiate the green eyed beast all the same. Although it did leave Adah wondering where it had come from in the first place; she didn't particularly like things creeping out of the darkness of her subconscious unbidden and unwelcome like that. Especially ones that she didn't exactly have any place in feeling, all things considered.

"Yes," she said simply, frowning slightly. "Exactly."

"We're not the newest students anymore," Lee said idly, looking around. "I feel so grown up."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't feel in the least bit different," Adah commented, because she didn't. She'd always felt superior over most people, regardless of shiny newness. "Should I?"

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
"I feel less overwhelmed," Lee told her with a shrug. "There were a lot of people here when I did this whole picnic thing as a new student. I had no idea what the frak was going on."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Adah gave a light grin. "I don't remember if I went to the picnic. If I did, I probably just sat and watched everyone. Like I did this time, only I think I've made some improvements in the situation."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
"It wasn't too bad," Lee recalled. "Girls really liked telling guys that they should take their shirts off. Other than that, it was just a lot of talking. See, now I know how it goes so I can just stand out of the way and watch with you."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
Adah chuckled a little, glancing toward his naked arm around her. "So nothing much has changed since last time, I see, as far as the shirts go. You think my way, over all, is better, though?"

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
"I like it better," he said with a decisive nod. "I'm more relaxed this way. Not worrying about being new and out of place and trying to do things right just to make sure I don't things wrong. Or something like that."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
Adah took a moment, head bobbing slightly, as she reordered that all in her head to make sure she got it right. It required a lot of flipping and switching and turning things backwards, but she was pretty sure she got it. "Not worried about doing things incorrectly with me?" she asked, curious.

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, I am," he admitted, smiling, "but if I do, I know you'd just tell me I was doing something wrong and tell me to stop. And then I wouldn't be doing anything wrong anymore."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
Adah hadn't really been expecting an answer like that, but she did like hearing it, smiling warmly as she shifted deeper into his embrace. "I think you'd be pretty hard pressed," she assured him, "to do anything wrong. Not that you should use that as an invitation to slack off, of course."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
"That's good to hear," he said and held on a little tighter because he could. "I won't be slacking off, I promise. I save my laziness for when laziness should be used."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
Adah maintained her warm smile. "I do like your kind of laziness," she admitted, remembering her exposure to it rather fondly.

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Something else I'm good at," he agreed, "and always willing to share with certain people. Co-laziness is the best kind."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
"Certain people, huh?" Adah asked, before she could wrestle the beast back and stop herself. She tried, poorly, to cover it up with a light, breathy sort of laugh. "And I agree. Sometimes. It's definitely more interesting than singular laziness, I will give you that."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Certain one person," he clarified. "You happen to know her, imagine that."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Do I, now?" Adah asked, quirking her head a bit more than she had intended, but those were tics for you. He rather did like to play this particular kind of game, didn't he? She didn't mind, though. She rather liked it. "You don't say. What's she like? So I can try to figure out who you mean."

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] stupid-toasters.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
"She likes my arms," he said and laughed. "And she likes to be kissed."

Which wasn't very descriptive but he was feeling playful. Maybe the cold was affecting his brain.

Re: General Mingling

[identity profile] ecirpnellehada.livejournal.com 2008-01-05 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Adah rolled her eyes a little, awkwardly (and mostly missing his side entirely) moving her elbow back in an attempt to nudge him. "Good job," she deadpanned the compliment, "you probably narrowed it down to probably ninety percent of the island's female population. Thank Dog you used a pronoun, so that I could at least eliminate the males."
