Since the area with all the informational signs was bound to get a bit clogged up, even more tables and chairs had been set up on the lawn, in a slightly different spot.

Robin found a prominent, but out of the way spot to perch with his banjo, and began to serenade the new students and teachers.

Alex was still around because he had nothing better to do and he didn't need to deal with his dunce of a roommate so soon after meeting him.

Plus, the food wasn't bad.

Hannibal, now sans shirt, was still around. Picnics were fast approaching parties on his list of 'fun things to go to at Fandom' list.

Riggins was still shirtless, his jersey flung over his shoulder and was now at the point where he had enough alcohol to be in a damned good mood. It was a picnic miracle.

Tahiri hadn't run into anyone new from her world yet, or anyone who claimed to be related to her, or anything like that. This was a relief -- but she was still keeping a wary eye out as she wandered the picnic -- it was warm enough out, but she had her Jedi robes on today. It seemed like the thing to do.

No shoes, though. Duh.

Jon was sitting on a picnic table, watching everyone with two plates of food, but no Jell-o. It sort of reminded him of a few festivals on planets whose names he never bothered to remember.

Effy was actually still about, miracle of miracles.

Still not mingling, as such, but she was a little more central, and actually eating something, since she'd skipped out on breakfast on her flight.

Angela was still carrying her shirt around, thanks to her deal with Hannibal, but a slightly reduced number of layers was not about to stop her from hanging around and chatting to people.

Diana was still lurking around the edges, but now she had taken to feeding Samuel scraps of food.

Brooke was hanging out with a drink, happy to keep an eye out for all the hot impressionable newbies. She loved this time of year. It was like Christmas, but with better weather and potential shirtlessness.

So sue her. After graduation and learning of the utter fail that was everyone in the school, Buffy was here and keeping an eye out for Sunnydale peeps on her own.

There was nothing to do inside, so Griff was still people watching and trying to sort out what was going on with this place, that feeling of awe continuing to grow.

Kenshin got himself a plate of things he could recognise, and went to settle on an untrampled portion of the ground. He sat seiza, and drew his sword out of his obi, laying it on the ground beside himself, edge facing inward. Hopefully the people around him would recognise the gesture of non-hostility for what it was.

Like every other picnic, Kaylee was tucked to the side to watch all the new people with a small pile of strawberries before her. This seemed like an awful big group, 'specially compared to what she was used to.

Sookie wasn't quite sure she was done being a new kid. She tucked herself off to the side to quietly watch the new people, occasionally venturing out with her mind (though for the most part she tried to keep her shields up as tight as possible.)

Like most people, Chie was all over the food. She would only say she was really hungry today, but mostly, she just liked food in general. So, with a plate full of mostly barbecue (it looked so good, what else could she say?), she decided to hang around the area and perhaps people watch a bit, as well as see what sorts of things happened around here.

Valentine contemplated going up into the dorms and settling into her room a little, but, nibbling on a cookie, she decided a little more people watching wouldn't hurt. There's be plenty of time for settling later.
