Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part III

Since the area with all the informational signs was bound to get a bit clogged up, even more tables and chairs had been set up on the lawn, in a slightly different spot.

"And just hope that, in most cases, it's true?"

"Hey, I'm pretty sure it will be."

Turtle smiled a little. "Yeah, mostly everyone here's pretty cool. There was this one guy who was a total jerkface, but he's gone for the summer, anyway, so yay for that!"

"Eh, there's always that one guy..." People were people, no matter where you went. She figured even here wouldn't be any different. "But that's one less jerkface to worry about."

"And one less person who might try to spit on your face," said Turtle, nodding.

"Ew." Chie made a face. "Anyone who tried that on me would so regret it."

Turtle's head bobbed emphatically in agreement. "We're even, though. I kicked him in the shins."

Technically, Turtle had kicked him in the shins before, too, but that wasn't the point. Spitting in faces was super gross.

Ooh, kicking. A method Chie could always agree on. "Perfect! That's one way to show 'em."

"Oh, totally. My shin kick is crippling. I have to say, I'm pretty proud of it."

"Oof, yeah, that can be pretty painful. Just the shin, though? 'Cause there's plenty of other places that work, too."

"Everyone always tells me that," Turtle said with a slight sigh. "I'm working on some fighting training, learning other kicks, and some punches, too, but, I don't know. Just going for the shin is just what feels more natural. Or something."

"I get it," Chie replied, attempting to sound encouraging. "It's easy, once you practice! Er-- I've trained a lot, so I guess it is for me, but if I could do it then so can anyone else."

"Oh, if you've trained a lot," Turtle said, "then you should join fight club! We meet every Sunday, and there's some sparring and training and it's really pretty good."

Chie immediately perked up, her interest just as quickly gotten. "Whoa, they have one of those here? I'm all over that, for sure!"

"Yeah, they totally do. It's run by Tyler and Miss Atreides. They're awesome. Sunday evening! You should definitely be there."

"That would be... tomorrow, right? Unless there's anything more us newbie types gotta do, I doubt I'll be busy."
