Since the area with all the informational signs was bound to get a bit clogged up, even more tables and chairs had been set up on the lawn, in a slightly different spot.

"Hmmm," Turtle said, tapping her chin thoughtfully. "Oedipus. That would be.....a really, really long time, I think. Like, probably over 2000 years. History was never my best subject, though."

"Two thousand years?" Gabrielle . . . actually took that pretty well in stride. "When I left home I never thought I'd ever travel quite this far."

"It's probably kind of a mindtrip, huh?" asked Turtle. "I didn't travel very far in either space or time, so..."

"Space? What, like out among the stars?" Gabrielle laughed. "I think that might be a little too far-fetched."

Said the girl who dealt with centaurs and giants.

"Well, I meant more...relative space," Turtle admitted. "Like, you know, the...space...between me and you. Or here and Greece." There were, of course, gestures to help with this. "But out among the stars works, too. There actually are some aliens here. One's actually my business partner. He's got spots."

Turtle was helpful.

"Oh, now I know you're just messing with me," Gabrielle said, peering thoughtfully at Turtle.

Yes. She was from ancient Greece and she totally just said 'messing with me.' Her world was truly a special place.

"Oh, no," Turtle shook her head. "I'm not; I swear it. Go over to the store tomorrow and see for yourself. G'Kar usually works that day."

It had not yet occurred to Gabrielle that there could be more than one store, given her idea of commerce amounted to a village's central marketplace. "Maybe I will. And if there isn't anyone like that there, oh, I'm gonna . . ."

She trailed off there, because she had no idea what she would do.

Or, really, how to make an effective threat under casual circumstances.
