Since the area with all the informational signs was bound to get a bit clogged up, even more tables and chairs had been set up on the lawn, in a slightly different spot.

Riggins was still shirtless, his jersey flung over his shoulder and was now at the point where he had enough alcohol to be in a damned good mood. It was a picnic miracle.

"...I see you've already been indoctrinated," Turtle noted, eying the new guy. "Or are you shirtless on your own volition? In which case, you'll get along just fine here. Just fine."

It felt weird, knowing that she could appreciate the view now, although she was trying (very, very hard) not to.

"My big sister told me it was tradition and it's one I have no problem keeping," Riggins said, more chatty now that he was nice and drunk. "But I tend to get shirtless of my own violation often enough. I work out a lot."

And he's a big show off. That too.

Well, at least Angela wasn't too bad. But, still, Turtle wasn't surprised.

Riggins tilted his head and sighed. "I don't know. People are nice enough but there's some weird crap going on. Guy in red pj's? Keep away from him. He's weird."

"I adapt well," Riggins said, eyeing the guy. If this dude walked into Dillon he'd get his ass kicked. Texas was rough like that.

It would have been hard not to notice the bare-chested boy from the shuttle, even if there wasn't the faint and delightful aroma of alcohol rising off of him.

Was shirtlessness common here, in 2009? It was an interesting question to explore.

"You look like you're making yourself comfortable," Jack said dryly. "I'm Jack, by the way. We were on the shuttle together."
