Since the area with all the informational signs was bound to get a bit clogged up, even more tables and chairs had been set up on the lawn, in a slightly different spot.

"Really?" This had the potential to create a cycle of squee that might never, ever, ever end. "Are you kidding? I would love to be in a play! The only audience I ever get is Xena's horse, and I don't think she likes me much."

"I will totally grab you on Audition day and then we can try out at the same time. I have no idea what play he's putting on, but the last one was a blast, about this king invading a nearby country and all the problems with it." Dinah gleed. More actors! Woo! And stories, yes! "You have to meet my friend Tony, he's going to be a director, do you guys have directors back in Greece? They're the ones that organize the whole play, he stage manages and helps Geoffrey at the Theater." Dinah took a breath. Possibly her first one in five minutes. "Anyway, you'll love it here, it's awesome!"

"I think so? Like I said, I've never actually had a chance to go to one, so I don't know how they work."

If she had known which she wouldn't until season 4, she'd have given Dinah a rundown on the theater business in ancient Greece that sounded disturbingly like the plot of The Producers the modern model.

"And," Gabrielle added, looking puppyish and hopeful, "don't let me forget! I would love to get a chance to try out."

"Not a problem! It'll probably be a Tuesday or Thursday-- do they have those in Ancient Greece?" Dinah interrupted herself. "And I'm in Room 312 when we're in the dorms. I'll be in Rutherford B. Hayes cabin when we move out to them in a day or so. Easy to find!"

"Those I'm not familiar with," Gabrielle admitted. Shocking, actually. "I'm supposed to be in . . ."

She peered at the piece of paper she'd gotten from when Peyton had shown her to the sign-in tables. "Room 218. And Lyndon B. Johnson cabin."

"Third day of the week, and fifth day of the week. Um. Seven-day cycle?" Dinah shook her head. "New cultures, always an adjustment. Anyway, I'll find you, or you find me, and at some point I'll explain phones and answering machines, but not now, 'cause I know someone who killed his the first week he was here and that never ends well."
