Since the area with all the informational signs was bound to get a bit clogged up, even more tables and chairs had been set up on the lawn, in a slightly different spot.

Jon just nodded. "Basically, I got told 'go here'. They took care of the classes and travel arrangements. They sort of forgot to mention the whole alternate realities and aliens part, along with sending me to the wrong city the first time."

"Your travel agent sucks, hunh?" Dinah grinned. "The classes didn't look like they'd be too rough this summer, they've got a lot of outdoor ones-- I signed up for Terrain survival, and one on Criminal Justice as well. Some friends are taking the beach and basketball and fashion classes. And nobody ever seems prepared when they get here, the brochures leave out a lot."

"Never let the military plan your vacation," he joked.

"I'm taking SAT Prep, Flight and Flying, Logically Thinking and Buddy Movie. Apparently I'm not allowed any fun this summer."

"Oh come on! How could Buddy Movies not be fun?" Dinah protested. "And Flight sounds like it should be cool too." She shook her head, then said, "So your family's military, hunh? Are you from all over?"

"Something like that. I remember Vietnam, the Middle East, Japan, most of the US, other planets and a bunch of places I can't talk about." Not that he had been there, but he did remember them.

Dinah nodded. "We've got a couple other kids like that. Well. Some of them are in the military back home, some are just here 'cause home's on fire, you know?" She shrugged. "I'm from New Jersey. And a city of eight million people that barely anyone here has heard of."

Making the girls laugh was fun. "Yep. Little alien Ken dolls."
