Included in the packets are:
Your child's/ward's/whatever relationship you have with this person's Class Schedule
A Map of the School and Town
A Schedule of Events for Parents Weekend
The rules and regulations of Parents Weekend
A Coupon Book

At the desk is a sign saying:
Please sign in here for Parents Weekend

And depending who is looking at the sign it will magically say:
To ensure everyone's safety, please surrender any Firearms/Weaponry/Magical doodads that will cause harm to our students.

Your property will be returned to you before you leave.

Thank you!

ETA: Parents/Guardians are now required to check in on their own.
((OOC: In other words... If your parents are somewhat "normal" and unarmed they will not see the message. Unless they are packing some kind of weapon, and then they will be see it. Got it?))

Shawn wanders in with his many bodyguards that swarm about him, he's looking quite perturbed at all this and looking fatigued from the flight down. Glancing at his watch, he sees it's the right time to check in. He approaches the sign-up section and signs in his name Shawn Farrell.

[The area dims, smoke begins to rise, and lights flash in a spectacular display worthy of a Led Zeppelin concert. Faintly a sound like 100,000 voices chanting D-hoff-ryn!, D-hoff-ryn! is followed by a loud crack.

In the center of a burning circle he rises, his horns towering above all in the area. He strides garcefully towards the one with the name tag, a menacing sneer on his face. When he speaks, he sounds...remarkably suburban.]

Is this where parents sign in?

Veronica is practically bouncing when she arrives at the checkpoint, pulling her dad behind her.

"Marty, this is my dad, Keith Mars," she says, a huge grin on her face.

A yellow cab pulls up in front of the checkpoint. A mildly irritated William Adama steps out of the cab, a look disdain on his face that's directed towards the cab. He gives some cubits to the driver, ignores the driver's protests that he didn't take that kind of money takes his bag and heads towards the checkpoint.

"So, this is where my son is."

Rogue paces nervously at the check in table. She wonders if Logan'll even show up, whether he'll be on time...

Trying to calm her nerves, she closes her eyes and starts humming.

Narcisssa arrives on her broomstick and gracefully lands to the ground. Smoothing her hair with one hand and leaning her broom against a post and locking it there with her wand, she approaches the check in desk.

"Hello," she says haughtily. "I am Narcissa Malfoy. Where do I sign in, mister...uh..." she peers at his badge, "Blank?"

Alanna sat next to Marty, a smile tight on her face. Every few minutes she would nervously pull at her pony tail. And that might have been a touch of makeup on her face.

Sharon walked briskly up to the counter. She frowned at the two "representatives" from Jaye's sanitarium, and finally picked the prettier more responsible-looking of the two representatives.

"Excuse me? Excuse me! Is this where I check in? When can I see my sister? Why are there furries wandering around?"

Her voice is...unnecessarily shrill on that last, but it's obvious that it would be unwise to question her about it.

She has the look of someone who's just travelled a very, very long way on a very, very non smoking flight.

"Ahem. Hi. I'm Sharon Tyler, Jaye Tyler's sister. I don't suppose anybody has the least idea what I'm supposed to be doing?"

Late Self Check-In

Two figures who, in any other place but this, might seem quite unusual, walk up to the registration table late and check themselves in.

The taller figure with the canine profile sighs in a way that indicates a total lack of surprise. "Kat, I might have known Cadet Carson would forget to factor in time differences when arranging to meet us here. Where is that boy, anyway?"

The shorter of the two, with pointed feline ears and piercing green eyes, shakes her head with affectionate exasperation. "Odds are good he's forgotten, Commander."

"I wouldn't be surprised. He's a promising cadet, but he has his quirks," replies Cmdr. Cruger, with an ironic emphasis on the last word. "Well, let's get paperwork squared away, at least. Hopefully Cadet Carson will remember at some point this weekend that we're here."

After checking in and perusing the brochures, Anubis Cruger is definitely second-guessing his decision to leave the sword at home.

[OOC: Forgot to mention -- bridge_carson's mun is having some not-insignificant (as in, things on motherboard going *POP*) computer issues and may have limited access if any until Saturday evening, if not Sunday. In that event, Doggie and Kat will be pretty scarce as far as on-campus stuff goes. They might be around in town, though.]

After filling out the required forms, he remarks, “Well, I think I’ll take a walk over to Susan’s White Star and give her a little surprise.” He wanders off, chuckling happily to himself.
