Rover, Martin Blank and Alanna Trebond sit at the registration table with information packets

Included in the packets are:
Your child's/ward's/whatever relationship you have with this person's Class Schedule
A Map of the School and Town
A Schedule of Events for Parents Weekend
The rules and regulations of Parents Weekend
A Coupon Book

At the desk is a sign saying:
Please sign in here for Parents Weekend

And depending who is looking at the sign it will magically say:
To ensure everyone's safety, please surrender any Firearms/Weaponry/Magical doodads that will cause harm to our students.

Your property will be returned to you before you leave.

ETA: Parents/Guardians are now required to check in on their own.
((OOC: In other words... If your parents are somewhat "normal" and unarmed they will not see the message. Unless they are packing some kind of weapon, and then they will be see it. Got it?))

Parker's smile is a little forced. "Could be better." She grimaces. "Just got sucked into a conversation with *Broots'* parents, and can I say, he's much cooler than them? A sentence I'd never say about Broots." She looks around, then pouts. "No Murray yet?"

"Broots is sweet," says Janet, giving Parker a symapthetic look and handing her a cookie. "Murray's been delayed travelling."

"Aww. Oh, well." She takes a deep breath, and motions to an older man in a suit. "My father couldn't make it," she says very quickly, "But, my godfather is here. Sydney? Could you come over here? I'd like you to meet Janet Fraiser. You remember, I told you about her."

"I'm flattered," says Janet, giving Parker a sympathetic glance, but hopefully avoiding embarrassing her by mentioning her father at all. She holds out her hand to Sydney. "Nice to meet you. Hopefully she didn't insult my lack of fashion sense too badly?"

*laughs as he shakes her hand* "Not at all! Not at all. I've heard nothing but good things."

"I didn't mention your fashion sense at all." Parker hums. "If you can't say something nice...."

"And this is Samantha Carter. She's Fraiser's roommate, and also a friend." She quirks an eyebrow at Sydney. "Yes, I know, it's good I can say that, isn't it?"

"Thank you," says Janet politely. "Did you have a good trip? You and Parker are from Delaware, right?"

"Yes, indeed. I had a very nice flight down." *neglects to mention private jet*

"That's good to hear," she says. "Do you have any plans for the weekend?"

*shrugs lightly at the scene around them* "Nothing in particular. I presume the school has events scheduled, but beyond that...."

*Sam continues to loom unhappily in the background*

"The Gun Club exhibition is tomorrow, but otherwise, there's nothing absolutely pressing," Parker says. "I was thinking of dinner somewhere in town, tomorrow?"

"That sounds excellent. I have a room at the hotel. I'm sure the concierge would be happy to recommend a good place, unless you had a particular restaurant in mind?"

"There's a new Russian place. You still like that, don't you?" She shoots Sam a look, and rolls her eyes. "And we can get a separate table for the watchdog," she mutters softly.

"That would be lovely, I'm sure." *catches her remark, add in a low voice* "Parker, please stop harassing Sam. You know your father would not let me come unattended."

Sam gives Parker a sympathetic (but not at all pitying) look and waits to be introduced.

"Ms. Carter, I'm very glad to meet you. It's good to know Ms. parker has so many friends here."

"It's nice to meet you as well, Mr. LaVert. Parker's become one of a very warped group of individuals here. I can't imagine Fandom High without her."

*Sydney laughs outright at that* "I think I begin to see why you get along so well."

"Strangely, we've found that we have a lot of common interests."

*Raises an eyebrow* "Indeed?"

*Sam continues to loom unhappily in the background*

Sam nodded enthusiastically. "She's one of the best sparring partners I've ever had and she outshot me on the range. It's hard to find someone ~~who hasn't been in the armed forces~~, especially a girl, who likes to do those kinds of things."

Parker grins at Carter. "Thanks, Carter. It's good to find someone *my* size who likes rough stuff." She turns back to Sydney. "She's a better kickboxer than I am. I've definitely learned a couple things from her. ~~Plus, she and Jack keep me entertained vicariously.~~"

*Sydney is all smiles* "Excellent! Excellent! I'm glad to hear it."
