Parent Check-in

Rover, Martin Blank and Alanna Trebond sit at the registration table with information packets

Included in the packets are:
Your child's/ward's/whatever relationship you have with this person's Class Schedule
A Map of the School and Town
A Schedule of Events for Parents Weekend
The rules and regulations of Parents Weekend
A Coupon Book

At the desk is a sign saying:
Please sign in here for Parents Weekend

And depending who is looking at the sign it will magically say:
To ensure everyone's safety, please surrender any Firearms/Weaponry/Magical doodads that will cause harm to our students.

Your property will be returned to you before you leave.

Thank you!

ETA: Parents/Guardians are now required to check in on their own.
((OOC: In other words... If your parents are somewhat "normal" and unarmed they will not see the message. Unless they are packing some kind of weapon, and then they will be see it. Got it?))

Angelus was instantly the picture of a fine and upstanding young man. He held his hand out to shake. "Pleasure to meet you, sir. You must be very proud of your daughter."

Very aware that this was the vampire Veronica had told him about, Keith firmly shook his offered hand. "I am very proud of Veronica. It's nice to meet you Angelus." There's a smile on his face, but it's not entirely convincing.

"Thank you, sir," Angelus's handshake was firm without being too firm, though his skin was far too cold to resemble anything human. "Veronica's been so kind to me during my time here at Fandom High. And I'm not just talking about the way she makes it such a joy for me to work at the school paper."

Veronica prays that her father won't say anything stupid to embarrass her.

"Angelus, where do you want me to drop off my cookies for the bake sale?" she asks.

She turns to her father. "Angelus is in charge of a club on campus and they're sponsoring a bake sale tomorrow," she says pointedly. "I baked a double batch of my famous snickerdoodles."

Letting go of Angelus's cold hand, Keith says, "Oh, a bake sale - how nice. What type of club is it, Angelus?" The smile is still plastered on.

"Junior Achievers, sir," Angelus said. "A group to encourage the best and the brightest of Fandom High. Which, to be honest, makes me surprised that Veronica isn't one of our members, but perhaps we can seduce her to our evil ways through the bake sale."

"Best and brightest - that does sound promising," Keith said, the smile growing even bigger. "Speaking of evil ways, though - how's that working out for you here?"

Angelus shook his head, the picture of politely bewildered confusion. "Beg your pardon, sir?"

Veronica bites her lip.

"Um, I mentioned the articles I was working on for the paper to my dad," she says, an apologetic look on her face.

"Ohh," Angelus said, understanding dawning. "You mean the one about baseless discrimination against non-humans like myself?"

"Yes - I'm really intrigued by this whole non-human thing, Angelus. Being a vampire must be so fascinating. Do tell."

"Dad, please," Veronica begs.

"Have you read your daughter's article on the subject, sir?" Angelus asked, then looked at Veronica apologetically. "Or am I pushing that too soon? I know how hard the creative process can be when you're still in the middle of it."

[ooc: *loves on Keith*]

"Article isn't done quite yet," she says. Then she spots Lilly (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhigh/288978.html?thread=14159314#t14159314).

"Dad, there's Lilly, let's go say hi!" she says, grabbing him by the arm and dragging him away before he can embarrass her any further.

She turns her head and mouths "I'm SO sorry!" to Angelus with an apologetic smile.

It's okay he mouthed back. He gave her a wink, then vanished into the crowd to go find Darla.
