Parent Check-in

Rover, Martin Blank and Alanna Trebond sit at the registration table with information packets

Included in the packets are:
Your child's/ward's/whatever relationship you have with this person's Class Schedule
A Map of the School and Town
A Schedule of Events for Parents Weekend
The rules and regulations of Parents Weekend
A Coupon Book

At the desk is a sign saying:
Please sign in here for Parents Weekend

And depending who is looking at the sign it will magically say:
To ensure everyone's safety, please surrender any Firearms/Weaponry/Magical doodads that will cause harm to our students.

Your property will be returned to you before you leave.

Thank you!

ETA: Parents/Guardians are now required to check in on their own.
((OOC: In other words... If your parents are somewhat "normal" and unarmed they will not see the message. Unless they are packing some kind of weapon, and then they will be see it. Got it?))

Parker raises an eyebrow, then nods in recognition as they come back.

*Extends a hand*

"Good evening, Mr. Broots. Mrs. Broots."

*smiles and turns to the young lady*

"And you must be Camilla."

"A pleasure to meet you again, Sydney right?" Robert aks taking his hand and shaking it.

"Hello again, Mr. Broots. Mrs. Broots." Parker is on her absolute best behavior. "So nice to see you again. I'm glad you could make it here this weekend."

"We're just glad that J.C. has a role model like you to look up to here at school, Parker," Maria tells her, smiling widely, "I was very worried about him until he told us you were here."

Parker's smile widens. "It's so sweet of you to say that, Mrs. Broots. I have to admit, your son's been very helpful to me here. If it weren't for him, the student council campaign would have been *so* much more difficult." She shines a bright and wicked smile at Broots, at least if you know her well enough.

Broots did his best not to burst out laughing. "Yes, Miss Parker and I working very well together."

Michael approaches almost noiselessly. He smiles at Parker, "You said I should stop by to meet your family. I'm sorry if I'm late."

"Yes... Robert? I'm glad to see you again. Your son is quite gifted and I'm sure he is doing well in his studies here."

"I'm sure he is too, although I do hope he's been getting away from his computer from time to time," Robert answers, "Besides Parker of course, obviously they're old friends."

Re: Refreshments/Mingling

"Yes Dad," Broots says in a mono-tone voice. "I get away from my computer."

"I'm sure he's taking full advantage of the experiences fandom High has to offer," Sydney agrees, reassuringly.

Cam smiles at the old guy in an insincere way, "That's me."

((is her name Camilla? opps, I was told Cam and assumed Cameron, my bad))

Re: Refreshments/Mingling

Parker cocks an eyebrow at Cam, then shoots Broots a smirk.

Broots shrugged and rolled his eyes.

"Pleased to meet you, my dear. I know your brother though one of his his internships."

((Mea culpa. It's Camilla. I'm sorry I didn't specify earlier.))

[identity profile] thebrootsfamily.livejournal.com 2005-10-29 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
At the mention of one of doekface's many internships and jobs, Cam loses what little interest she might have ever had in this conversation.

"Well he's pretty special, Mr. Sydney, very different, I'm glad you found a use for him."

Re: Refreshments/Mingling

[identity profile] centre-sydney.livejournal.com 2005-10-29 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
*smiles* "I take it you do not share your brother's interests? So what do you enjoy?"

Re: Refreshments/Mingling

[identity profile] whitedeathpod.livejournal.com 2005-10-29 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Parker," John says politely. "Wanna meet my dad before we head back to my room?"

Re: Refreshments/Mingling

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-10-29 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course." Parker turns a blinding smile on Jack, and holds out her hand. "I've heard so much about you, Mr. Crichton. Who is the IASA these days?"

Re: Refreshments/Mingling

[identity profile] not-an-ancient.livejournal.com 2005-10-29 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
Jack smiles and takes Parker's hand. "Firm grip," he compliments. "And I hope all you've heard has been good," Jack says with a wink. "The IASA is wonderful. Busy. Are you interested in space travel?"

Re: Refreshments/Mingling

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-10-29 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
"Thank you." Parker nearly dimples at him. "And of course it is. It's obvious John respects you very much." She bites her lip. "I'm more interested in the practical possibilities of life in outer space, eventually. Colonizing Mars, and the like. I'll leave the risk-taking to guys like your son."

Re: Refreshments/Mingling

[identity profile] not-an-ancient.livejournal.com 2005-10-29 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
Jack smiles widely, obviously pleased at her interest and knowledge of space travel and the possibilities of space. "Well, you're quite well versed, young lady. I don't believe John's mentioned you but I haven't heard from him much." Jack leans in and whispers, "Is he behaving himself? Just between you and me."
