Parent Check-in

Rover, Martin Blank and Alanna Trebond sit at the registration table with information packets

Included in the packets are:
Your child's/ward's/whatever relationship you have with this person's Class Schedule
A Map of the School and Town
A Schedule of Events for Parents Weekend
The rules and regulations of Parents Weekend
A Coupon Book

At the desk is a sign saying:
Please sign in here for Parents Weekend

And depending who is looking at the sign it will magically say:
To ensure everyone's safety, please surrender any Firearms/Weaponry/Magical doodads that will cause harm to our students.

Your property will be returned to you before you leave.

Thank you!

ETA: Parents/Guardians are now required to check in on their own.
((OOC: In other words... If your parents are somewhat "normal" and unarmed they will not see the message. Unless they are packing some kind of weapon, and then they will be see it. Got it?))

"A pleasure to meet you again, Sydney right?" Robert aks taking his hand and shaking it.

"Hello again, Mr. Broots. Mrs. Broots." Parker is on her absolute best behavior. "So nice to see you again. I'm glad you could make it here this weekend."

"We're just glad that J.C. has a role model like you to look up to here at school, Parker," Maria tells her, smiling widely, "I was very worried about him until he told us you were here."

Parker's smile widens. "It's so sweet of you to say that, Mrs. Broots. I have to admit, your son's been very helpful to me here. If it weren't for him, the student council campaign would have been *so* much more difficult." She shines a bright and wicked smile at Broots, at least if you know her well enough.

Broots did his best not to burst out laughing. "Yes, Miss Parker and I working very well together."

"Oh JC! Student politics, that's so lovely to hear. I knew this was the chance you needed to open up and get involved with your fellow students," Maria's smile is wide and bright.

"Yeah, it's an awesome opportunity to learn more about hacking to um, get to, um, know different people. Very different." Broots nods a bit.

"Well I'm just glad you took it JC," she says happily. "So, how did homecoming go?" she asks softly, "all I got was your e-mail and no mention of how it all went. Who was the lucky lady?" Maria asked her son, winking

Broots looked like he wanted to melt into the floor. "Um, it was good. We danced, I spilled punch on her dress, I apologized, we danced. And, Zero. I haven't seen her the past few days, I heard she fell into the Locker." He looked a bit nervous about that.

[identity profile] thebrootsfamily.livejournal.com 2005-10-29 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
"Fell into the locker? she asks him, "Will she be okay? I'd hate to think your lady friend is hurt. And I'm sure she was very understanding about the punch thing. Boys your age are all feet and elbows after all."

Re: Refreshments/Mingling

[identity profile] dorky-broots.livejournal.com 2005-10-29 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Broots nodded. "She liked the flowers I sent her, so I think she got over the punch. Of course, than we had the whole Psych thing which I would rather forget about. There are not enough words for how much I hate that class. And um, it's not so much a locker as a portal to other worlds, but I think yeah."

Michael approaches almost noiselessly. He smiles at Parker, "You said I should stop by to meet your family. I'm sorry if I'm late."

Re: Refreshments/Mingling

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-10-29 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, Michael." Parker's feeling are definitely mixed at this moment. "My father couldn't make it, unfortunately. There was a last-second emergency in Blue Cove." She takes a deep breath, and turns to Sydney. "This is -- my godfather, Dr. Sydney Lavert. Sydney, this is Michael Samuelle, my boyfriend."

Re: Refreshments/Mingling

[identity profile] m-samuelle.livejournal.com 2005-10-29 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Michael nods and extends his hand to Dr. Lavert. "Very pleased to meet you, Sir."

*Sydney's eyebrow rises and he smiles* "A pleasure, M. Samuelle!"

"Yes... Robert? I'm glad to see you again. Your son is quite gifted and I'm sure he is doing well in his studies here."

Re: Refreshments/Mingling

[identity profile] thebrootsfamily.livejournal.com 2005-10-29 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm sure he is too, although I do hope he's been getting away from his computer from time to time," Robert answers, "Besides Parker of course, obviously they're old friends."

Re: Refreshments/Mingling

[identity profile] dorky-broots.livejournal.com 2005-10-29 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes Dad," Broots says in a mono-tone voice. "I get away from my computer."

[identity profile] centre-sydney.livejournal.com 2005-10-29 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm sure he's taking full advantage of the experiences fandom High has to offer," Sydney agrees, reassuringly.

Re: Refreshments/Mingling

[identity profile] dorky-broots.livejournal.com 2005-10-29 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Broots doesn't open his mouth for fear of laughter and simply nods.

Hearing Maria's mention of the school election Robert also gets excited.

"Oh I'm sure he is also Sydney, I just worry at all the time he spends in front of that computer. I'm glad he has Parker around to get him involved," he says and then to Broots, "An election? I'll bet you and Miss Parker creamed the competition."

Re: Refreshments/Mingling

[identity profile] dorky-broots.livejournal.com 2005-10-29 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
Broots nodded, having very little clue on how the election went. "Yeah, all our people won. I think"

"You see Jack! When you're motivated nothing stops you! Just think of what else you could accomplish aroun here."

Re: Refreshments/Mingling

[identity profile] dorky-broots.livejournal.com 2005-10-29 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
Broots stiffled a groan and nodded. "Yes Dad."

Re: Refreshments/Mingling

"Good man!" he replies, slapping Broots on the back again in what's supposed to be a comraderly fashion.
