Included in the packets are:
Your child's/ward's/whatever relationship you have with this person's Class Schedule
A Map of the School and Town
A Schedule of Events for Parents Weekend
The rules and regulations of Parents Weekend
A Coupon Book

At the desk is a sign saying:
Please sign in here for Parents Weekend

And depending who is looking at the sign it will magically say:
To ensure everyone's safety, please surrender any Firearms/Weaponry/Magical doodads that will cause harm to our students.

Your property will be returned to you before you leave.

Thank you!

ETA: Parents/Guardians are now required to check in on their own.
((OOC: In other words... If your parents are somewhat "normal" and unarmed they will not see the message. Unless they are packing some kind of weapon, and then they will be see it. Got it?))

Shawn was nervous, all his body guards had some sort of weapons on them and they weren't about to give them up. "Come on guys! You have to!" he pleaded with the bigger, older one who just shook his head. "Do it, or you're fired." that one worked and all of them put there weapons down for surrender.

Veronica leads her dad to Rover's station.

"Hey Rover," she says. "Seen Lilly lately?" she asks with a wink.

"This is my dad, he has a handgun to turn in."

She turns to Keith. "This is Rover, he's the head of security. He was also the homecoming king."

Keith looked at Rover, speechless at first.

"And I thought Neptune had its characters," he said, preparing to turn his handgun over to the big ball.

Emily walks up to the registration table, handbag clutched to her side. She smiles wide and sees Rover, and is seemingly amused by him. "Is this where I sign in? I'm hear to see my granddaughter, Rory Gilmore. R-O-R-Y, although her real first name is Lorelai. That's L-O-R-E-L-A-I. I'm Emily. And do you know of any good restaurants in the area? The food at the hotel is simply awful. Their chefs are atrocious, you'd think the kitchen was run by chimpanzees."

Rory arrives at the table just in time to catch sight of Emily.

"Grandma! Hi!" she says cheerfully. "You're here."

Marty rushes over. "AHHH Ms. Gilmore. Lovely to meet you. I'm friends with your granddaughter. I believe we have all the information you need in our packets. Here's yours for Rory."

Chewbacca looks at the big ball.

He holds out both hands, showing his unarmed, and allows his satchel (mostly empty, with only his translator, some money, a few odds and ends and a half eaten 1 lb bag of M&Ms) to be searched.

I left my bowcaster aboard the ship. Han has told me of the weapons policy. I think it wise.

"Hello, my little friend. I think you're wanting this?" He reaches into the folds of his robes and holds out his lightsaber.

Irina peers at the bouncing and wiggling ball. "I was assured these will be kept safe," she says, and hands over her two hand guns and three knives without a scene. She can make practically anything out of a weapon, after all, and keeping a low profile is important.

"Oh, my," Kokiri (Kiki's mother) murmurs to Okino (Kiki's father), "Kiki didn't say anything about this -" she shifts her attention to Rover.
"Pardon me, sir, but are wands required to be surrendered? It's not a weapon, but it would be a magical doodad."


[ooc: I never saw an official ruling on whether wands or not would be confiscated, although I asked over on the occ comm. The consensus seemed to be "students are allowed to have wands, so parents are permitted, as well." Whatever the decision is, though, I'm fine with it :) ]
