Fandom High Graduation Ceremony Class of 2006 - Monday night

As the sun disappeared below the horizon on Monday evening, large, bright lights came on, illuminating the front lawn of Fandom High. There was a stage area with several chairs for the administration and special guests, as well as a podium and microphone. On the grass in front of the stage are rows and rows of chairs for parents, guardians, siblings and friends of the graduating seniors, as well as enough chairs for any faculty, townies and students who decide to attend. There is an aisle free down the middle and reserved seats in the front row for the graduating seniors.

All in all, the place looks fantastic decked out in blue and gold thanks to the efforts of the freshmen on the graduation committee.

Oh yes. Then there's the inflatable gremlin filled with helium off to the side that's the size of the building. It looks kind of cute, actually, just floating there while tied to the ground.

Grams and Prue took seats as close to the front as they could. Prue had her camera ready to take pictures of Piper as she got her diploma.

Widow Twanky, took a seat where she could keep an eye on Angel and Callisto, she didn't trust that fellow not to try and take advantage of the poor innocent girl.

So what if she should have been more worried about Callisto taking advantage the poor innocent vampire.

Keith Mars took his place right up front, camera at ready.

Complete with telephoto lens and top of the line digital zoom. Lord help anyone who decided to sit in front of him and block his view of his little girl's commencement.

Gabe Sullivan might not have the shiniest camera like Keith Mars, but he does have the best videocamera he could find. After all, Chloe's only going to graduate from high school twice once.

Jack Bristow, who seemingly came from nowhere as Bristows do, took a seat quietly at the back. If one were to notice him, they would get the sense that it'd be best not to notice him, really, and go about their business. It's a trick Bristow picked up from DEATH.

Beyond that, Jack looks as proud as he can without actually mustering up the appropriate facial expression or body language.

Willow got there very, very early, took a seat on the aisle and pulled out two digital cameras and a videocamera. And a pocket regular camera, just in case.

"I hope I have enough memory, and maybe I should have gotten more batteries, or film..."

After having showered the woods gook out of her hair, Angela made it to graduation and took a seat to watch the ceremony.

She was not going to get sniffly. Really.

Parker saw Bridge and Isabel (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/869030.html?thread=40390310#t40390310) and went to sit by them, and did massive double-take when she saw Dean Bristow. "Whoa."

Then she looked around for Finn, Smith, and Conner. And Jaye. Because if the kickline happened? She so owed Jaye massive drinks.

Vice Principal Pierce stepped up to the podium. "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the first graduation ceremony for Fandom High. Please stand for the precession of seniors." Here come the seniors down the aisle in their blue gowns with gold trim. They're walking in pairs in alphabetical order:

Zoe stepped up to the podium, taking a good long look at everyone who had gathered before she started speaking.

"Good evening everyone, and welcome to the 2006 Fandom High graduation ceremony," she said brightly. "It's good to see everyone who's come out tonight; I was hoping we'd have a nice crowd for the senior class. This is the first graduation our school has had, and the first time I've had to give a speech like this, but I promise I'll try to keep it as brief and non-sappy as possible."

She smiled, and glanced out past the seniors to the seats right behind them. "To the parents and family members who are here, I want to make sure you know how proud you should all be. To say that our students have had an interesting year would be a vast understatement. But no matter what issues occurred, the student body, and the seniors especially, rose to the occasion to help in whatever way they could. Back when I was in the military, I commanded lifelong soldiers who reacted more poorly in stressful situations than the members of the senior class. Your children have played an amazing role at this school, and it's almost a shame that we have to let them go. Almost," she added, laughing.

At this point, Zoe turned to set her gaze on the seniors. "Not that I'm not looking forward to seeing what you all can accomplish once you've been set out into the real world. That "Most Likely To" business is only the icing on the cake for most of you. You all have talents that I didn't realize people your age could have. Granted, some of them are things I was probably best off not knowing about from an administrative standpoint, but we'll just have to let that slide at this point." Zoe smirked softly. "I know I promised I'd keep this short, so I just have one thing that I want to make sure you all know before you leave tonight. You have all changed this school, and whether you're willing to admit it or not, you've made it a better place than it was when you got here. I can only hope that you feel that being here has changed you for the better as well. "

By now, only Zoe's training in remaining cool under pressure is keeping her from getting a little sniffly, and she breaks into a wide smile instead. "Now, I'm going to turn things over to our special guest speaker. Seniors, enjoy the rest of your graduation ceremony. You deserve it. Thank you, and good night."

"Please welcome our guest speaker, the actress formerly known as your favorite and mine, Bitterwoman..." Hawkeye did say the actress' name, but the microphone feedback squealed through the speakers and couldn't be heard.

"Evening," she said, frowning out at all of the bright, shiny faces of the graduating class. She cleared her throat. "Over the years - and yeah, there's been plenty. I've been around. I'm old. Get over it - I've met an assortment of, well, I guess you could call them interesting characters. If you use the term 'interesting' really loosely. But never once have I encountered a group of weird kids the likes of you."

She glanced out over the crowd again. "You all think you know what's out there. You think you're ready. Well, let me tell you something, kids. You will NEVER be ready. You'll think you are. You'll buy your weapons and lassos and whatever the hell. And you'll shine - oh, how you'll shine. And then? It all just goes to hell."

She made a whistling sound not unlike a bomb dropping, and skimmed her hand downwards to indicate a downfall.

"One day you're on top, and then the next, you're speaking at some stupid graduation ceremony because they tossed some loose change at you, and you need SOMETHING to feed the cats or your stupid old lady neighbor'll have a fit 'cause they ate her cabbage again. YOU KNOW WHAT, MRS. HENDERSON? NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOUR CABBAGE. NO ONE."

She probably would have continued this little tirade if only a Mountie hadn't appeared and gently started dragging her away from the podium just then.

"Okay, I'm not much for speeches which don't lead into a battle so bear with me guys," Callisto waited for the laughter from what might have been a joke to die down before continuing. "Fandom High is not really the kind of place I would have chosen for myself, but over the past year, between the zombies, snow-monsters, crazy hookers, weetiny bunnies, vampires, mysteriously disappearing clothing, I've found that it grows on you."

"Perhaps the most important lesson a person can take from Fandom High is the the ability to cope with anything, no matter what-" Callisto broke off as she heard a screeching noise (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/869030.html?thread=40337062#t40337062). "...the frak?"

Uh-Oh

Off to the side during Callisto's speech, there is a snapping sound and then another. Then there is an almighty SCREECH, interrupting the end of Callisto's speech. The so-called inflatable gremlin has come to life! It looks unhappy. What everyone will notice is that when they try to get up, their chairs are stuck to the ground and they are stuck to their chairs!

Except the seniors. What a coincidence. Um, hold tight folks. Surely the seniors will come to your rescue!

The band looks up at the giant gremlin. Then they look at the audience stuck in their seats. They look at the Seniors, then back at the giant gramlin.

Dr. Teeth shrugs and turns to the band, "One. Two. Three. Four."
