Fandom High Graduation Ceremony Class of 2006 - Monday night

[OOC: This post is open for slow-play. Take your time and please remember that this is all about the seniors!]

As the sun disappeared below the horizon on Monday evening, large, bright lights came on, illuminating the front lawn of Fandom High. There was a stage area with several chairs for the administration and special guests, as well as a podium and microphone. On the grass in front of the stage are rows and rows of chairs for parents, guardians, siblings and friends of the graduating seniors, as well as enough chairs for any faculty, townies and students who decide to attend. There is an aisle free down the middle and reserved seats in the front row for the graduating seniors.

All in all, the place looks fantastic decked out in blue and gold thanks to the efforts of the freshmen on the graduation committee.

Oh yes. Then there's the inflatable gremlin filled with helium off to the side that's the size of the building. It looks kind of cute, actually, just floating there while tied to the ground.

"Muppet chickens?" Willow scrinched her face up. "Um, maybe? But I'm always up for a good chicken story."

"It's all part of the weirdness that is Fandom," Isabel explained with a chuckle. "One day I opened the door and the hall was filled with Muppet chickens. They pushed through the door into the room, some came in through the air vent. Feathers were flying everywhere. We couldn't get them out then suddenly Jeramiah started croaking and they all boogied out the door. Go figure."

"Wow," Willow said, sitting back in her chair, "I'm jealous. I think Xander found a place that's weirder than Hogwarts."

"Considering that there are aliens, demons, vampires and Muppets all wandering around here? It's a nexus of weird. We worry if nothing weird happens. Because that means all the small weird is being saved up and is going to become something extremely weird. If that makes sense?" Isabel asked.

"That makes sense like a fully sensical thing," Willow agreed. "Has he told you about Sunnydale? It's got a similar policy. Watch out for May, it's a killer," she added, helpfully.

Isabel nodded, "He has. It's funny, I'm from Roswell. I always thought we were the capital of weird. Now? A few aliens wandering around keeping a low profile? That's nothing. It's practically normal."

"Wait until demons and vampires and witches and ghosts become commonplace." Willow sighed and set one of her cameras down, "or apocalypses."

"Well I'm good friends with both a vampire and a demon," she said. "I know a few witches in passing but I haven't met any ghosts yet. And fortunately the closest we've come to an apocolypse is the snow monster invasion." Isabel sat back and shook her head. "And those are sentences I never thought I'd hear come out of my mouth."

"They came out very well, if that's any consolation," Willow said, patting Isabel's arm. "You get used to it."

"I'm trying," Isabel laughed. "And it's not like I'm not used to weird. What exactly did Xander tell you about me?"

"Girl, roommate, short red robe, something about a scary bear..."

"Ah, he left off the alien part then," she said. "That wasn't a weather balloon that crashed in 1947."

Isabel shrugged, "It was this huge secret I was keeping. At least unitl Skeeter announced it on the radio. The bitch. Fortunately nothing bad has happened since she did it, so I'm just enjoying the opportunity to not have to worry for a while. By the way, thank you for the information on her. I needed that laugh."

"Oh, hey, anything I can do to help mess up her life is good for me," Willow said, chin set in her resolve face. "She really made life difficult for a couple of friends of mine for a while."

"Well you'll be happy to hear that a few students here made it their mission in life to aggravate the hell out of her for the semester," Isabel said. "Of course that did result in John being turned into a different animal each week, but he still annoyed her even then."

"I'm very happy to hear that," Willow grinned, "but not as happy as Hermione, Harry, and Ron will be. They hate her. Like deep, abiding, opera type hate."

"Trust me," Isabel said. "I understand."
