Fandom High Graduation Ceremony Class of 2006 - Monday night

As the sun disappeared below the horizon on Monday evening, large, bright lights came on, illuminating the front lawn of Fandom High. There was a stage area with several chairs for the administration and special guests, as well as a podium and microphone. On the grass in front of the stage are rows and rows of chairs for parents, guardians, siblings and friends of the graduating seniors, as well as enough chairs for any faculty, townies and students who decide to attend. There is an aisle free down the middle and reserved seats in the front row for the graduating seniors.

All in all, the place looks fantastic decked out in blue and gold thanks to the efforts of the freshmen on the graduation committee.

Oh yes. Then there's the inflatable gremlin filled with helium off to the side that's the size of the building. It looks kind of cute, actually, just floating there while tied to the ground.

John slips in beside her, tossing an arm over her shoulders.

"Did I miss anything?"

"Nothing yet," she assures him, and doesn't move his arm. "Hi."

"Hey." He kisses her cheek. "How're you doin?"

She shrugs a little. "That's us next year," she says. That's actually the answer.

"Still a ways to go till then," he says, playing with her hair. "And when we are up there, we'll be happy."

"Just promise me you won't get turned into an animal."

"I can promise to try," he says with a smile.

"You realize I'd have to be the one to explain all of that to your family, probably," she says. "As their son might be a mongoose."

"They'd understand," he says with a laugh. "They know I'm kinda insane sometimes."

"My sister's have called me a jackass before so I doubt they'll be too broken up about it."

"I can just see it now. 'Hello, I'm Aeryn. That's John. No, really. Occasionally, he has fur. You didn't know this?'"

"Your beauty will bewitch them," he says, laughing again.

"Of course," she says. "I'm sure they'll wonder why I'm even with you."

"And you just tell them that you love me, that I'm cute and that I'm fun in bed," he says, still laughing.

"Hm, what do you think your father's reaction would be if I told him you were good in bed?" she asks.

"Also, I said I was fun in bed," he says, "not good. You added that part."

"Yeah, but they aren't," he argues. "I said fun. You said good. You also groped me."
