As the sun disappeared below the horizon on Monday evening, large, bright lights came on, illuminating the front lawn of Fandom High. There was a stage area with several chairs for the administration and special guests, as well as a podium and microphone. On the grass in front of the stage are rows and rows of chairs for parents, guardians, siblings and friends of the graduating seniors, as well as enough chairs for any faculty, townies and students who decide to attend. There is an aisle free down the middle and reserved seats in the front row for the graduating seniors.

All in all, the place looks fantastic decked out in blue and gold thanks to the efforts of the freshmen on the graduation committee.

Oh yes. Then there's the inflatable gremlin filled with helium off to the side that's the size of the building. It looks kind of cute, actually, just floating there while tied to the ground.

Turns out fighting huge inflatable gremlins wasn't nearly as easy as fighting a demon. Angel did his best to get a few punches in, but the squishyness of the gremlin made it hard for him to keep his balance.

In other words, totally vulnerable to that hand about to swat him.

With a flick, the gremlin sent Angel flying and turned back to the frozen audience.

Angel tumbled through the air and landed with a loud thud on stage. On the upside this didn't kill him. On the downside he was momentarily dazed.

The gremlin ignored Angel completely as it began to move again.

Veronica was really wishing she had her taser. She realized that the audience was frozen and only the seniors seemed to have the ability to fight.

"Hey!" she yelled at the gremlin. "Why don't you pick on people who can fight back?"

The voice caught the gremlin's attention and it paused to look down at Veronica.

'Oh crap,' Veronica thought. 'Now what?'

She tilted her head, looking for a weakness of some sort that they might be able to exploit.

The gremlin's printed on eyes blinked in confusion and it tilted its head back at her.

Ivanova had been out of her seat as soon as the gremlin had started for the crowd and now she ran forward, her hand fumbling under her robes for the staff she almost always carried. It expanded in her hand as she twirled it and launched herself right for the knees, the staff swinging in a powerful arc.

As the staff struck the gremlin's knee, it's leg began to buckle. It reached out a hand to catch Ivonova and also to try and keep itself from falling.

Hand hand hand hand hand! Ivanova ducked to the side, barely making it out of the way of the descending hand. She tried the knee again, hoping to get the thing down so at least it wasn't heading towards the rest of the guests. "Why won't you get down," she growled, swinging the staff on the last word.

The leg completely went out from under the gremlin with Ivanova's second blow. But, her staff got caught as the plasticy fabric folded and was ripped from her hands.

The gremlin fell onto its side and bounced a little. It roared and reached for Ivanova again.

"Ooooh, I had better get that back," she snarled, eyeing the monster warily. More specifically, eyeing the approaching hand. She dropped back into a fighting stance until it came closer, when she lashed out somewhat futilely and then danced back a bit.

When Ivanova lashed out, the gremlin swatted at her instead of going for a grab.

Hmm. Shouldn't Ivanova have grown wings or something before trying to fly? Oh well, there was always next time. She crashed into the edge of the stage and crumpled to the ground, groaning and shaking her head. She wouldn't be getting up for a while.

The gremlin roared again and began to push itself upright again.

Chloe glanced back and forth between the gremlin and Ivanova. In retrospect, bringing a weapon to graduation? So would have been a good idea.

"Hey!" she yelled, trying to draw the gremlin's attention.

Once again, the gremlin paused and turned to see who was yelling.

Chloe waved, as any person who was clearly crazy and somewhat suicidal would. "That's right Mr. Green and Ugly, I'm over here."

The gremlin frowned and looked sadly at Chloe when she insulted it. Green it would give her, but ugly? It quit trying to get up and reached for her instead. She'd see ugly then.

Making a highly undignified "eep" noise, Chloe scrambled out of the way. "Oh, so you're slow too, huh?" she said, looking around and wondering if there was anything she could possibly throw at it.

As Chloe moved out of its reach, it went back to trying to push up off the ground so that it could go after her.

Piper rushed over to the gremlin when it was about to go after her roommate. Without another thought, she threw her hands out as if to blow it up.

The blast hit the gremlin in the arm it was currently using to support itself and it went down again. If one were to look carefully, one would see that it now had a large area on its arm where the fabric looked crackled instead of smooth and shiny.
