Fandom High Graduation Ceremony Class of 2006 - Monday night

As the sun disappeared below the horizon on Monday evening, large, bright lights came on, illuminating the front lawn of Fandom High. There was a stage area with several chairs for the administration and special guests, as well as a podium and microphone. On the grass in front of the stage are rows and rows of chairs for parents, guardians, siblings and friends of the graduating seniors, as well as enough chairs for any faculty, townies and students who decide to attend. There is an aisle free down the middle and reserved seats in the front row for the graduating seniors.

All in all, the place looks fantastic decked out in blue and gold thanks to the efforts of the freshmen on the graduation committee.

Oh yes. Then there's the inflatable gremlin filled with helium off to the side that's the size of the building. It looks kind of cute, actually, just floating there while tied to the ground.

Willow got there very, very early, took a seat on the aisle and pulled out two digital cameras and a videocamera. And a pocket regular camera, just in case.

"I hope I have enough memory, and maybe I should have gotten more batteries, or film..."

Pretty young girl? G'Kar was so there. He leaned over with a charming smile. Well, it would have been charming on any other face. "Hello, my dear. Surely a beautiful young woman like yourself can't be a proud parent."

She smiled sunnily. Unsurprisingly, Willow was a big fan of ceremonies that celebrated academic achievement and didn't have giant demon mayor snakes. "No, sir! I'm here in my best friendy type capacity." She pointed to Xander. "See, that's him there. Xander!" She shouted, then waved wildly at him.

G'Kar craned his neck to see where she was pointing and smiled fondly. "Ah, yes. The young woman beside him is my own charge, Susan Ivanova. And I am G'Kar." He said this as he place one hand over his heart and bowed slightly.

Willow obligingly took another photgraph. "G'Kar? That's really unusual." She looked him over and tried to decide what type of demon he was. Ooh, maybe he was an alien! She bounced. "I'm Willow."

"It is a fairly common name on Narn," he said with a shrug. "Willow, though, is one that I have never heard in my acquaintance with humans. It is a lovely name."

"Narn?" She was so looking that up in the library when she got back to Hogwarts. Hermione would probably help, which meant library snugglies. Yay! She wondered if she should have been more worried that he'd eat people, but Xander would have warned her about that, right?

She skootched her chair a bit away from G'kar, just in case. "Uh, thanks. It's a tree, but I guess my parents thought it was appropriate. They gave it to me. The way parents do." She shrugged. "So, Narn, huh? Where is that?"

Isabel recognized Willow from the picture on Xander's desk. "Hi! You're Willow right?"

"Uh huh." Willow nodded and took yet another a picture of Xander. "Hi!"

"I'm Isabel," she smiled. "Xander's roommate. I've heard a lot about you."

"Isabel!" Willow squealed, then hugged her. "Thank you so much for taking care of him this year."

Isabel hugged back, "We took care of each other so it was no problem. I'm so glad to finally meet you."

"Me too!" Bouncing slightly in her seat, Willow took a picture of the decorations. "Xander's told me so much about you, I feel like I know you already. Was it very strange, living with a guy?"

"I think you'll be okay." Bridge grins at Willow.

Willow's brow wrinkled as she worried. "Are you sure? Because I saw a little store with that probably has film. I could run real quick like a bunny over there and be back, but, oh, then I might miss the beginning."

"Do you really think I'll be okay? Giles and Buffy would kill me deader than Angel if I missed anything important."

"If worst comes to worst, I have a camera on my phone," Bridge says, holding up a cellphone that looks... well, a bit more advanced than anything you'd find in 1998. Or 2006 for that matter.

"Yay, technology!" Willow said happily. "Oooh, what kind of phone is that? Is that new? There's not much technology at Hogwarts, since the magic makes it go all wonky. Oh, British speak! Giles and Hermione would be so impressed."

Actually, there was more likely to be some glasses cleaning and eye rolling.

Bridge laughs. "It's... well, actually, I think it may be outdated now, but I haven't been home in months so it'd be hard to tell."

Parker's looking for a place to sit, and seeing Bridge and Isabel, she makes her way over there. She cocks her head when she sees the redhead with them. "Hey, guys. Any space left for me?"

Oh, Xander totally spies her from the back where the seniors are milling. "Jpal, Crap," he mutters. Then... well, shrugs. Because honestly what is there left to tell?

Okay, maybe he shouldn't have started thinking about that, because now he's wondering.

"Hey Parker!" Isabel waved. "We'll make room. This is Willow."

Willow leaned over and waved, accidentally pressing the flash on the camera. "Oops. Another picture of the floor."

"Hi! Oh, you're the Parker I'm not supposed to talk to, right?" She looked innocent. "Why is that?"

Parker grinned. "Because I have pictures of Xander in leather? Or maybe because of various times I was there when he embarassed himself? Too close to call. What I'm wondering is why I shouldn't be talking to you?"

"Hello, I've been hoping to meet you. Xander's mentioned you so often," Parker took a seat by Isabel, camera in hand, and offered her hand. "Thanks so much for your help on the Diagon Alley thing."
