Fandom High Graduation Ceremony Class of 2006 - Monday night

[OOC: This post is open for slow-play. Take your time and please remember that this is all about the seniors!]

As the sun disappeared below the horizon on Monday evening, large, bright lights came on, illuminating the front lawn of Fandom High. There was a stage area with several chairs for the administration and special guests, as well as a podium and microphone. On the grass in front of the stage are rows and rows of chairs for parents, guardians, siblings and friends of the graduating seniors, as well as enough chairs for any faculty, townies and students who decide to attend. There is an aisle free down the middle and reserved seats in the front row for the graduating seniors.

All in all, the place looks fantastic decked out in blue and gold thanks to the efforts of the freshmen on the graduation committee.

Oh yes. Then there's the inflatable gremlin filled with helium off to the side that's the size of the building. It looks kind of cute, actually, just floating there while tied to the ground.

"As well he should," Grams sniffed. "Halliwell women are a special breed. What about Piper's boyfriend, does he treat her well?"

Phoebe smiled cheerfully. "Lindsey adores Piper, Grams," she nodded. "He would do almost anything for her."

"He's graduating, too, isn't he?" Grams said, peering at her program. "Is that him next to Veronica in the procession?"

Phoebe smiled and nodded. "Yes, that's him."

"She doesn't look too happy," Grams pointed out. "That smile seems forced. Did she just stomp on his foot?"

Phoebe had noticed that, too. There was only one reason she could think of that Veronica would do that to Lindsey and her eyes narrowed in anger.

What the hell had he done to Piper?

Phoebe quickly shook her head. "It must be nerves on her part. If she was really unhappy with him, she'd just taser him and be done with it."

"Phoebe?" Blair bounced nervously into the seat next to her and gave her a quick hug and grin. "Sorry it took me so long to get here!"

Grams peered at the newcomer with interest. "You must be Blair," she said.

"Yes, Blair Sandburg; you must be Mrs. Halliwell, it's a pleasure to meet you!" Blair grinned and tried to put as much charm into it as he could.

"I've heard such good things about you from Phoebe."

Phoebe linked fingers with Blair and smiled at him. She looked like she was kissing his cheek, but in reality, she whispered, "Thank you."

"Tell me about yourself, Blair," Grams said. "I want to know everything about the young man my darling girl is smitten with."

Phoebe might have flailed, but she didnn't. Instead, she played with her ring while she waited to see what Blair was going to say.

Blair Sandburg, thy intials are BS for a reason.

"I think it's great that you have such an interest in the relationships your grandaughters have. My family life...well, there isn't much to speak of. It's been totally cool to be around Phoebe and her sisters here at Fandom." Blair figured that was true enough for Bel too.

"I'm interested in school and mainly the study of people, and I'm excited about the summer session that starts soon." Okay, that part was more Blair, but it was almost sacrilege to lie about anthropology. "I also really like plants. Did you know there's a garden on the roof of the school? It's very soothing."

"I'm very protective of my granddaughters," Grams said. "Not just any man is worthy of the love of a Halliwell woman.

"How long have you known Phoebe?" she went on. "How did you meet?"

"A friend of ours introduced us," Phoebe said.

"As you should be, they're all very special girls. Especially Phoebe here." He grinned over at her and squeezed her hand.

"Yup, that's true, not too long after I arrived. She was very helpful and welcoming to all of the new students here. You know, she gives off very good vibes."

"Good vibes?" Grams repeated, raising one eyebrow. "Did you have classes together?"

"Communing with nature is almost like meditating. It centers you and restores your karma." Blair nodded with a bounce. "Do you meditate Mrs. Halliwell?"

Nope, Phoebe was not mentally flailing as Grams kept grilling Blair. She also wasn't looking to see if she could get a glance of Cole and reassure them both.

So far, Blair was holding his own.

"I've been known to focus and center," Grams said. "Grounding myself, as it were. Tell me more about this meditation that you do."

"Right on, man." Blair grinned. "There's enough badness out in the world that grounding is the smart way to operate."

"I usually meditate just for calming purposes and to process my thoughts and emotions. But I do travel to the spirit plane on occasion. It's really easy to do that from here at Fandom High. Must be something about the area."

"Is it now?" Grams said, leaning in closer to Blair. "Where exactly do you go on the spirit plane?" She was still deciding if Blair was insane or somehow gifted.

If Phoebe could have facepalmed, she would have. However, she didn't know how to stop this line of questioning without arousing Grams' suspicions.

"Well, before I came to school here, I studied with a shaman in Chile and the spirit plane always appeared to me as a jungle and my spirit animal was a wolf." Blair shrugged. "Since I've come here and meditated with other people, what I see has changed a bit."

"But, seriously, I've talked enough about me." Blair leaned foward eagerly. "What was Phoebe like as a little girl?"
