Food Appreciation [Class Four, Period #3]

Marshall was just kind of staring at everybody when class started. He didn't look angry or anything. He was just staring, maybe looking a bit worried.

A little more staring.

A little more...

"I'M AFRAID TO TALK TO EVERYBODY TODAY," he said suddenly. "So far today I told a radio squirrel that if I were another squirrel I'd totally tap that and I told Ted that I didn't really mind his red cowboy boots!"

Ignore the fact that nobody here knew who Ted was.

"What if I start doing lecture and I suddenly start talking about how I think Kaylee's little accent is about the cutest thing I've ever heard and how that sometimes I want to ruffle Sam's hair because it looks fun?" Marshall's eyes widened. "Oh god, I'm doing it already!"

He pointed at the buffet table which had all sorts of moddable sandwiches and subs on them.

"Sandwiches! They're delicious and easy to make! Eat them!" Marshall said. "And for the love of god, someone save me from myself!"

Awwwwwwww! Kaylee thought that was so sweet because most people didn't think her accent was cute.

"That's so sweet!" she announced. "No one never thinks my accent is cute!"

Sadly, today was not really an atypical day for her. She normally just said whatever was in her little head anyway.

Priestly had only just gotten up before the class, and hadn't yet realized that today was weird.

"I don't know what he's talking about," he said. "What the hell is he talking about? And who doesn't wanna ruffle Sam's hair? If you can reach. . . ."

At least Claudia had dressed vaguely appropriately for class today in an old painter's jumpsuit liberally splashed with color from when she'd painted her and Zayne's room, a pair of bright pink Chuck Taylors, and a belt woven out of pieces of baby blankets. Her hair was back in two buns on the sides of her head and she was wearing enormous silver hoop earrings. On anyone else it would look nuts. On Claudia, it looked great.

She had, despite having a class earlier in the day, not noticed that she was only babbling the truth. It wasn't all that different than her any other day, really.

Summer listened to the lecture and snickered a little. This class was always entertaining. Plus, there sandwiches. Best class ever.

Harry had woken up late and hadn't actually talked to anyone yet today except for Bob. And telling Bob he was obnoxious and talked too much wasn't anything unusual for Harry.

So the lecture seemed a little weird and Harry was clueless about the truthiness of the day.

In a truly shocking turn of events, Firekeeper and Blind Seer both gravitated towards the hot steak sandwiches. Or, well. Firekeeper had a sandwich. Blind Seer just pulled the meat out from the sandwich and ate that.

Every time Rachael Ray refers to a "sammy," I want to stab her even more than usual. That and when she tries to convince me that things are "figure friendly." NOTHING WITH PORTIONS THAT HUGE IS FRIENDLY TO MY FIGURE. NOTHING.
