Food Appreciation [Class Four, Period #3]

Marshall was just kind of staring at everybody when class started. He didn't look angry or anything. He was just staring, maybe looking a bit worried.

"I'M AFRAID TO TALK TO EVERYBODY TODAY," he said suddenly. "So far today I told a radio squirrel that if I were another squirrel I'd totally tap that and I told Ted that I didn't really mind his red cowboy boots!"

Ignore the fact that nobody here knew who Ted was.

"What if I start doing lecture and I suddenly start talking about how I think Kaylee's little accent is about the cutest thing I've ever heard and how that sometimes I want to ruffle Sam's hair because it looks fun?" Marshall's eyes widened. "Oh god, I'm doing it already!"

He pointed at the buffet table which had all sorts of ~~moddable~~ sandwiches and subs on them.

"Sandwiches! They're delicious and easy to make! Eat them!" Marshall said. "And for the love of god, someone save me from myself!"

". . . Why the hell wouldn't he want you to go to college?"

"Because I think he'd rather have me go and be a hunter with him," Sam said, wincing a little.

"Right, right, he hunts demons." Priestly shook his head. "He's pretty obsessed, isn't he."

"If a demon killed your mother, I bet you'd be pretty obsessed too," Sam said. "Sorry, I didn't mean that to come out quite like that."

"Are you kidding? There're times when I'd've thought I'd love it if something got rid of my mom. Of course, then I usually realize I'm full of shit and that she'll eventually get over the whole 'my baby's become a freak' thing, but still."

"I've seen things way freakier than you," Sam said, grateful that the truth could be helpful for once. "And you shouldn't not be a freak just because it bothers your mom. Your whole get up is too cool."

"I know! That doesn't make it any easier to know she's thinking it, though."

"My dad wishes I could be more like Dean sometimes," Sam said. "I know kind of how you feel."

"He wants you to be horny?" Yeah, okay, so Priestly had some odd ideas about Sam's brother.

"What?" Sam said, ~~dying~~ laughing. "No, he wants me to be a good hunter and not worry about things like college."

"Your dad doesn't want you to go to college? Isn't that a little bizarre?"

"...honestly? I'm not sure anymore," Sam said in realization. "That's how it used to be, at least. But I haven't really asked him in a while."

"Maybe you should."

"I should ask him today. Then I know I'd get the truth, and not my usual run-around," Sam said.

"That's a good plan. But you might get more than you bargained for."

"Yeah, I don't want to think about him telling me something I don't need to know that has nothing to do with what I'm asking," Sam said. "Maybe I can ask tomorrow, or whenever this crap goes away."

"Please god tell me this'll go away tomorrow. I've already talked enough and the day's barely started. I don't wanna be all Honesty Man all week."

"This stuff usually goes away quickly, like the time we all woke up as girls," Sam said helpfully.

"I've heard about the girl thing. I think that'd actually be pretty cool. See how the other half lives.'

"Top-heavily," Sam said, before he could stop himself. "At least, that's how I get when I'm a girl."

"Big boobed, huh? Were you still really tall? Because that'd be hot."

"I did make a really hot girl," Sam said, blushing.

"Did your brother? 'Cause I figure, if he did, I totally will, too."

That made for some interesting squirming. "Dean was really pretty too, and Alec looked just like him...her...whatever, so you'd probably be hot too, yeah."

Priestly grinned. "Sweet! I wonder if I'd still have a mohawk. Did you still have floppy hair?"
